About this deal

Well, this was a wild read. Of all the Fear Street books I've read, Switched was definitely the craziest. The story started out pretty grounded with the standard Fear Street exposition, but it didn't take long for the story to fly completely off the rails-and it was great! It wasn't what I was expecting at all, but it was still great. Almost imperceptibly the corner of his mouth moved up, revealing the hint of a smirk. It wasn't just that I amused him; I sensed he was pleased with me. Like he had challenged me somehow and I had passed. As the Kindred overall story continues there is much excitement, danger and suspense, (the evil Two is even more determined to destroy the Kindred), great interactions and involvement by characters from previous books and lots of sizzling sexy scenes. Book 17 in particular has a major amount of humor and fun that has you smiling the whole time. Two is still on his mission to take over/destroy the Kindred and will do whatever is necessary. I was surprised at who his latest victim was and honestly didn’t see that one coming. Nicole realizes her best friend has framed her for murder!! Lucy used Nicole's body just like the prisoners did in that lore. Now she'll get away with her crimes. Nicole runs out of Lucy's house and realizes that she's being chased by two cops. They must know who she is already. She heads to a Pizza Joint, more determined than ever to find Lucy. She spots her!

Why do you look at me all the time?" I knew I'd simply rephrased my original question, but he still hadn't given me a decent answer. Miss Everly, why don't you go down to the principal's office?" Mr. Meade suggested, and I groaned. "Since you seem to be making a habit of sleeping in my class, maybe he can come up with some ideas to help you stay awake."

Did you think you could treat me like shit at a dance, then sneak into my room in the middle of the night and tell me that I'm a troll with magical powers, and I'd just be like, yeah, that sounds right.” So why did I only see humans and no trolls at all? This is fantasy so I was looking for something different. Anyway, I understand it as I've read further, because the author eventually explained it through her characters that trolls don't really look mystical but instead, they look human. So yeah, I couldn't do anything about that. BUT STILL. I want to see REAL TROLLS. :-/ I couldn't come up with a witty retort, but the bell rang, saving me from the rest of that awkward conversation. Finn just nodded, thus ending our exchange, and turned down the hall to go to his next class. Thankfully, it was one of the few he didn't have with me. Frankie has to learn to be alien (eg. use the toilet facilities and the strange shower, eat the alien food) and to be a male (be aggressive, be a soldier and take part to a parade etc.)

Did we miss something on diversity?

As always, the erotica was super, super steamy. There was one section that could possibly come with a trigger warning, but in the context of the book it was well written and explored.

Filled with action, suspense, and romance...I found the story completely fascinating." --"A True Reality Blog" I wasn't sure what it was that I had just done exactly—I tried not to think about it enough to name it. About a year ago, I'd discovered that if I thought about something and looked at somebody hard enough, I could get that person to do what I wanted. Wendy is a strong-willed girl, and reading Switched from her perspective was a joy. She is in a tough position, but she doesn’t budge when it comes to what she believes in, and I appreciate that. The other characters are completely enjoyable, and I loved them, and their interactions with each other. As with the other books, I love that Frankie is a diverse character. She’s Hispanic/Latina and has serious curves going on. She’s also vegetarian. All of Anderson’s characters are easy to identify with. Frankie struggles with the same doubts and self-consciousness that we do on a daily basis. He kept his sandy blond hair trim and neat, and his eyes were the same shade of blue as our mother's. Matt wasn't overtly muscular, but he was sturdy and athletic from working out a lot. He had a sense of duty, like he had to make sure he was strong enough to defend us against anything. You can't beat the storyline for Switched, the book that starts off the series with a bang: When Wendy Everly was a little girl, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to end her life. Now Wendy is starting to wonder whether there might have been something to her mom's paranoia after all. Enter Finn Holmes--the mysterious, sexy guardian who's been watching over Wendy until she was old enough to learn the truth about her supernatural origins--and the revelation of a hidden world full of mysteries, dangers, and untapped powers that Wendy never knew she had."" -MTV.com "

Kindred Kerov Volx, Battalion Commander lives on Tarsia Six. A planet where Kindred are considered second class citizens because of their ability to switch bodies with their true mates, something that is completely forbidden and looked down on. Tarsia Six residents believe that if they control who Kindred and Tarsians males have sexual encounters with they can eliminate or contain switching between the Kindred species. Kerov has been with Xirnah a Tarsian for 3 years and they both feel the same way about each other; they’d rather not be together but they must do what was commanded of them. There should be no romantic feelings between the members that resides on Tarsia Six planet. Now what made me become (a little) bit disappointed was the plot. It was neatly done, but it was weak. The progression was poorly established. I think there were scenes that weren't really necessary but they were given emphasis (I guess to lengthen the whole book) but to be honest, the interesting things only happened at the last few chapters of the book.

Delightful." I sighed. Matt couldn't care less about my schooling, but my aunt Maggie was a different story. And since she was my legal guardian, her opinion mattered more. "What's her plan?" Wendy is a flawed antihero, which helps differentiate her from the throng of paranormal-romance heroines, and the potential for development, both dramatic and romantic, should make readers anxious for the next installment of the Trylle trilogy. "Booklist" And then that ending with Nicole saying how well she’s doing, I was like, “Good for her!” BUT THEN she adds that LUCY coming to visit every day was helping 😩 Nicole, sweetie, no 😭 Another thing that bothered me was the existence of the Vittras. These are the creatures that act as antagonists. They are Trylle's greatest enemies. In this book, their descriptions unfortunately didn't make an exceptional appeal. Their physicality was so vague. I couldn't really imagine how they look like. Do they look like human or something?
