Sherman, Jennifer (November 8, 2017). "Ten Count Boys-Love Manga Ends in November". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on March 27, 2018 . Retrieved March 26, 2018.

I'M NOT EVEN GOING TO TALK ABOUT KUROSE PROCLAIMING HE LOVES SHIROTANI BECAUSE CLEARLY THIS IS NOT HOW YOU SHOW THAT YOU LOVE SOMEONE! of their dynamic. I'm sure no modern-day 26 year-old would wait 6 months to have sex and even longer to kiss. The main character never advertised himself as a saint. But he showed extraordinary resolve in waiting as long as he did. If it was left up to the protagonist, they'd never touch. So, I think coaxing him to feel pleasure and trying to give him a different perspective because he truly loves his partner is miles away from the blatant disregard of consent shown in other BL manga. Mateo, Alex (2022-10-28). "Ten Count BL Anime Gets Theatrical Release in 2023". Anime News Network . Retrieved 2022-10-28. As for the art itself, I really like it. I have yet to notice any of those yaoi art clichés, such as yaoi hands. The art is clean, nice, and subtle. Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between bodily fluids (sweat, ect.) and water, or they will be drawn in such a way that it looks nasty, but here the difference was noticeable and it did not look nasty. Which in and of itself is a subtle plot point, because, being mysophobic, Shirotani should see these things as ten times nastier, but she only draws them as such at certain moments. And believe me, it is there. There are at least two times when non-defined outlines of germs where drawn through his perspective. Here is another note on her subtlety, the non-defined outlines implies the fact that he doesn’t know where the germs actually are, which further emphasizes his panic. Pineda, Rafael Antonio (2017-03-16). "Re:ZERO, My Hero Academia Top Sugoi Japan Awards 2017 Results". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on 2017-08-01 . Lui scatena inevitabilmente istinti di protezione nel lettore, si intuisce che la sua malattia ha un'origine dolorosa e non si può fare altro che spronarlo a continuare a spuntare quelle voci della lista, con l'aiuto di Kurose. I don't read much manga (honestly it's just too darn expensive), I was scrolling through some manga online on a whim and I came across Ten Count. Shamelessly, I was entranced by the bishie on the cover. :D But what I got is a really heartwarming and pretty deep look at the relationship between two guys, one with Mysophobia, and the other of whom is a psychiatrist. Let’s start with the good. Shirotani is a majorly rounded character. Something happened in his past, which probably caused his phobia, but we still do not know what. However, just knowing that something occurred makes you intrigued and feel more empathetic toward him. Having a slight case of mysobphoia myself, I feel empathy for him during some of Kurose’s actions as well. But not entirely… Shirotani is the personal assistant to the president of a major corporation. He's a germophobe, but does good enough work that the people he works with are willing to overlook it. He has a chance encounter with Kurose, a therapist who offers to work with him to overcome his phobia. The core of this process is a list of ten actions of increasing difficulty (for a germophobe) that Shirotani must perform--in his own time, when he feels ready--before he will consider himself cured. Number 10 has been left blank for now, but I'm sure it will be filled in by the end of the series. There's some mystery as to why exactly Kurose is helping him, but I'm sure we'll know by the end etc. There seem to be (ba bump) feelings for each other on both sides of this potential relationship ...

Rihito Takarai launched the manga in Shinshokan's Dear+ magazine in July 2013. [2] The series ended on November 14, 2017. [3] Viz Media's SuBLime imprint announced their license to the series at Yaoi-Con on September 19, 2015. [4] No. Kurose lets Shirotani make a list of ten actions he finds difficult to do, rated from "possible" to "very difficult". And then he tells him to meet him at a cafe every week and try and work his way up the list. Actually, the last spot is still empty - and when Shirotani asks Kurose why he's doing all this, Kurose tells him he'll let him know once he reaches number ten. (My BL sense was obviously tingling at that.) And so beings Shirotani's therapy. Yes, I also has fears that some scenes will be removed. That is why it should have TV format as some delicate scenes can be freely redrawn or added from the start on the Blu ray discs. In the story, Shirotani Tadaomi, secretary of a company president, meets Riku Kurose, a counselor. After he gives Shirotani a diagnosis for mysophobia, Shirotani ends up attending his counseling sessions.

Not sure where you're getting this from, but "caricature attempts" isn't something I'd describe female characters as in the last decade of BL manga. What does it have to do with feminism? They could've easily just thought to themselves, I want a good female character in my story for xy reasons apart from "feminism". And it can and does work. Sadly, the intended purpose for this manga was for some sexy times to commence, and therein lies the problem because I get the sense that author Takarai-sensei must really want to expand on the inner conflict her protagonist is struggling with but since this is published as a yaoi, she had to comply to the demands of editors to put some sexy stuff already because who wants to read about believable character development dealing with a phobia anyway?Takarai launched the manga in Shinshokan's Dear+ magazine in July 2013, and ended the series in November 2017. Viz Media's SuBLime boys-love imprint released the sixth and final volume in December 2018.

As Kurose and Shirotani's relationship intensifies, Kurose notes that Shirotani is simultaneously repulsed and sexually aroused by his advances. Kurose reveals that he is a sadist who derives pleasure from triggering Shirotani's mysophobia, and has intuited that Shirotani is a masochist who derives pleasure from the very acts that disgust him. Shirotani rejects Kurose, and they do not speak for many months. After a chance encounter, Kurose and Shirotani reconcile their relationship. Shirotani reveals the tenth item on his list – to be patted on the head, an act he associates with his father – and admits that he loves Kurose. Shirotani finds he is now comfortable enough to reciprocate Kurose sexually. But of course, I might be reading into it too much. It is very plausible that the mangaka has not done research into these ethics. At the same time it is possible that she knows about the ethics and decided to break them on purpose. Considering how well she writes Shirotani, I am inclined to believe that she has Kurose breaking ethics on purpose. Characters are more realistic when they have flaws, and this is an obvious one. If I'm not mistaken) I once read the reason why Ten Count's adaptation is always delayed, it's because there are so many scenes that need to be censored/cut while some of them are important scenes (please correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know how the adaptation will be but I hope it doesn't disappoint BL作品「テンカウント」のキャラが登場するパズルゲーム「テンカウント for App react」がリリース". 4gamer (in Japanese). 2019-01-08.
