I suffer from hyperpigmentation, and the time I’ve been using this (since May – about 3 months) I have not noticed new spots forming, although my recent frolic in the sun did leave my existing spots a little darker. It can be used on both the face and body. The formula is available in either 40g or 90g size. It is also for this reason that I prefer using Japanese brand sunscreen. For me, they have worked better. My pigmentation is kept under control, and I do not experience more uneven darkening of my skin than necessary. That's because non-waterproof formulas will wear thin once you start sweating, which is common thanks to Malaysia's weather with high humidity.

Allie Chrono Beauty Color Tuning UV 02 (Sunny Apricot) - I was actually most excited to try this variant due to the fact that it is said to help blur out dark eye circles. Unfortunately, it did not really meet my expectations, although I understand why this was advertised as so. This formula helped to tone down any redness, and I can imagine it would help to lessen the look of really heavy eye bags (not dark circles). The search is over. I’ve found my holy grail everyday sunscreen, and it’s the Allie Extra UV Gel N. The other problem with SHISEIDO The Perfect Protector SPF 50 is that it transfers very easily to face masks. Even after letting it dry for 30 minutes and wearing my face mask; the sunscreen gets onto my face mask.
