They lend a natural-looking high-shine finish and are best suited for oily, combination, and normal skin types. Poured (Cream)— It works well on bare skin or over liquid foundation from my experience. I like using duo fiber or stippling brushes gently swirled in the compact, then lightly patted in three places along the cheek bone for initial lay-down of color, and then blend by swirling in feathery circular motions. Fingertips are also excellent for blending out the color once you’ve applied the initial amount.If I had to sum up my thoughts on the pressed Shimmering Skin Perfectors I’d have to admit they’re not my absolute favorite formula of pressed highlighter. Like I mentioned earlier, I prefer the liquid version (which seems to have been discontinued, WHY???😭😭😭). I gravitate toward a smooth and seamless powder like the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter or the highlighter in theBalm’s Will Powder Palette. Some of the Shimmering Skin Perfectors are just too sparkly or thin for my liking. You can choose to apply BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in an even layer all over the face, or showcase certain areas such as the jawline and cheekbones. Pressed (Powder) has nearly opaque color coverage with the strongest sheen and the most noticeable shimmer particles (I wouldn’t describe them as noticeable, only relative to the other two formulations). I find it easiest to over-apply and then have the finish emphasize pores with the powder version. Topaz: Radiant bronze with golden undertones that’s perfect for deeper skin tones; adds a sun-kissed, bronzy glow on fair-to-medium skin tones. The consistency was soft, a little dusty, but smooth and blendable on my skin. I still find the texture of the formula to seem a bit drier compared to the one years ago (like in 2013), though the actual color, application, and effect on my skin looks the same. It applied evenly and didn't emphasize my skin's natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.Original (Liquid) has the most slip with a thin, almost water-like consistency that spreads very well over even dry patches and mixes easily with other products (like liquid foundation, moisturizer, etc.). Best for anyone who likes a dewy sheen with less shimmer and visible color, best for all-over luminosity (I prefer mixing in with a liquid foundation). Due to the pump mechanism, it is harder to get a very small amount out (if I want to ROSE GOLD: The cream version is slightly darker with a smoother sheen, whereas the liquid and powder versions are nearly the same in color but offer different opacities, and the powder version is more metallic on the skin. OPAL: All three are very similar in color, though the powder appears a smidgen darker and has a higher sheen with the most noticeable color. Liquid highlighters are lightweight and have a creamy texture. They are sheer and give your skin a subtle glow, while also providing all-day moisture. They are suitable for dry, combination, or mature skin types. Liquid formulations can also be mixed with your favorite foundation for a luminous appearance.
