With Raditz defeated and Goku gone from this world, the surviving Z-Fighters must begin preparing for the arrival of two more Saiyans who will reach Earth in one year's time. Piccolo takes Gohan into the wild for a severe training program, in the hope that his hidden power will be revealed. Meanwhile, Goku embarks on a new adventure in the next world, as he must travel the endless miles of Snake Way to receive training from the legendary King Kai! As Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan close in on the last of the dragon balls, they instead uncover the secret identities of some Namekkian friends. And while Goku works to build up his strength, Vegeta seeks to quench his thirst for vengeance--his sights set on only one thing: Destruction. Gohan joins Bulma and Krillin as they head to Planet Namek in search of the dragon balls. What begins as a mundane trip becomes chaotic when they encounter a bizarre situation in the emptiness of space. Finding themselves on some type of space station, they set out on foot to find their escape. The Battle of the Buus begins as Majin Buu must fight his evil counterpart! The good Buu soon gets a taste of his own medicine when he is turned into chocolate! And when Evil Buu gobbles him up, a horrible transformation takes place! Who is this radical, new Majin Buu? Bulma is arrested by a mysterious group of militant, heavily armed refugees while traveling to Namek. At first, they accuse the trio of being henchmen of the evil Frieza that destroyed their home planet. However, when the Earthlings help in a dangerous situation, the refugees allow them to continue on their journey to Namek. They reach the planet and, with the help of two Namek natives, begin their search and find two Dragon Balls.

The battle between Goku and Frieza rages on as Namek's destruction draws closer. On Earth, all seven Dragon Balls have been collected and King Kai formulates to save the inhabitants of Namek and put an end to Frieza. Kami and Mr. Popo then summon Shenron. Gohan powers up to his full strength, and prepares to fight the mysterious Kibito. But before Gohan can move, Yamu and Spopovitch drain Gohan of his power and Shin reveals to be the Supreme Kai. The two energy thieves take off, and are closely followed by the Supreme Kai and the Z-Fighters. The Supreme Kai then tells them of a wizard called Bibidi who created a monster called Majin Buu. Majin Buu set about the complete destruction of the universe and Buu was then imprisoned in a powerful ball of energy. Before Bibidi could release Buu, he was killed by the Supreme Kai, but he has a son named Babidi who intends to resurrect Majin Buu, and continue his father's dream of ultimate destruction. Krillin uses the final wish to take the bomb out of Android 18, purely because that he has fallen in love with her. Gohan and the others descend from Kami's lookout, preparing to celebrate the newly restored peace, while Chi-Chi tries to cope with the loss of her husband, Goku. Trunks says a final farewell to his parents and heads downstream through the mystical river of time. He then begins to concentrate on the serious tasks that await him upon arrival in the dreaded future that almost was. Meanwhile, Hercule begins to take all the undeserved glory for Cell's defeat, and it appears that only Gohan's family and friends know the actual truth, but Gohan doesn't seem at all bothered, he and the Ox-King are too busy sneaking away from Chi-Chi. Along Snake Way, Goku and King Kai decide it's time for them to settle down and find a suitable place to live, so King Kai begins constructing their new home. Goku explains the art of fusion. They decide to teach it to Goten and Trunks. Bulma calls Shenron, and wishes for everyone that was killed by Vegeta to be revived.

Frieza's men destroy Bulma's ship, stranding them on Namek. Krillin and Gohan in return take down the henchmen. Meanwhile, Vegeta fights with and kills his rival Cui, another one of Frieza's henchmen. As the weak and weary warriors of Planet Earth are bandaged and cared for, Bulma accidentally destroys the Saiyan spaceship, leaving no way to get to Planet Namek! But, Mr. Popo reveals that there might be another spacecraft they can use. Can they get to it in time, and will the old and forgotten ship even work if they do? Angered by Frieza's mauling of Krillin, Gohan takes on Frieza. Gohan is seriously wounded while battling Frieza, but a renewed Krillin (healed by Dende), manages to stall Frieza long enough for Dende to restore Gohan's health. Piccolo, united with Nail, arrives on the scene and looks ready to take on Frieza. The battle between Gotenks and Majin Buu rages on inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. On the outside, family and friends wait anxiously for Gotenks and Piccolo to reappear. Can they successfully defeat Majin Buu and make it out alive? Three years of training have passed and the day Trunks warned the Z-Fighters about has come. They all arrive on the island, except Vegeta, where they meet Bulma's son, Baby Trunks. Yajirobe has also come to give Goku some Senzu Beans, but is then shot down by the two androids. The Z-Fighters search the island's city for them. Yamcha is the first to find them, but before he can warn the others, the Androids punch a hole right through his stomach.A new World Tournament is set to begin! With a little help from Majin Buu, Goku rigs the drawing so that he is matched up with a mysterious fighter in the first round of the finals! But is this timid, little village boy named Uub really as strong as Goku thinks? Or has the Saiyan made a big mistake? Gohan and Cell continue their fight, with Gohan realizing why his dad put him out. He wants him to get mad, so that his power will explode. Gohan then warns Cell and tells him about the times his hidden power erupted; Gohan alone, still 5 and a half years old, had weakened Raditz horribly. Only a year and a bit later, he had close to killed Frieza in his 2nd stage. But, Cell is not worried. He now has a new goal. To unleash Gohan's power, and have a real fight with Gohan. He begins to beat up Gohan even worse, but, Gohan is afraid of destroying Cell, and his real power will not show itself.

Super Saiyan Gohan and Dabura continue their fight, with neither able to win. After hearing the angry Vegeta's boasts, Dabura ends the fight and informs Babidi to use Vegeta's evil heart for their own purposes. The battle with the Ginyu Force begins, as Gohan and Krillin launch a barrage of explosive energy blasts at Guldo! But they soon discover there is more to Guldo than meets the eye, when he traps them with his ?Mind Bind? technique! Krillin and Gohan are rendered helpless by Guldo?s power, and this time, there is no one to save them! ?Or is there? Unable to allow Vegeta to kill anymore innocent bystanders, Goku reluctantly accepts Vegeta's challenge. At Goku's request, Babidi teleports them to the outside of his ship and Goku sends Gohan and the Supreme Kai to go and destroy Buu before his release while he fights Vegeta. Goku then powers up to Super Saiyan 2 and prepares for his rematch battle with Vegeta. The Z Fighters race to Babidi's cronies from delivering the pure energy which will be used to resurrect the dreaded Majin Buu. When Super Saiyan 3 Goku collapses from exhaustion, Vegeta has to step into the fray. But in no time, Vegeta himself is felled! And just as Majin Buu is about to deliver the deathblow, a rejuvenated Goku rejoins the fight and saves him. Astounded by Goku’s greatness, the Saiyan prince pays a moving tribute to his long-time rival!The Supreme Kai takes on Buu, but his mental techniques seem to have little to no effect on the pink Demon. Buu playfully enjoys himself by beating the tar out of the Supreme Kai. The battle with the Saibamen continues, and Yamcha is killed when one of them self-destructs on him. Super Saiyan Goku battles 19 while the other Z-Fighters watch. Goku seems to have the fight well under control but then Goku loses his strength. Because of this, Goku now has difficulty fighting 19.

Dodoria continues to search for Krillin and Gohan in the Namekian wilderness, but that?s not who he finds?Vegeta is waiting for him! The Saiyan prince has a score to settle with Dodoria. And the time for the final showdown between these two powerful villains has come. While training for the fight against the Androids, Goku and Piccolo are trying to get a driver's license, but while on their last warning, a bus drives off a cliff, and Goku and Piccolo have no choice but to save the children inside. They return home without their drivers license. After Goku completes the first phase of his special martial arts training King Kai instructs him to bash Gregory with a hammer. Easier said than done. After an exhaustive chase, King Kai tells the story of the Saiyan race. Inspired, Goku resumes his training and eventually manages to put the hammer to Gregory. Impressed, King Kai agrees to train Goku personally. But will it be enough to stop the incoming Saiyan invasion of Earth? When the people of Earth ignore even Goku’s cry for help, it looks like defeat is imminent. But when the World Champion Mr. Satan steps in and asks, the skeptical humans have a change of heart. Will their outpouring of energy arrive in time? Goku can only wait and watch in horror as Vegeta crumbles under the might of Majin Buu! With the Ginyu Force by his side, is Frieza on the verge of taking over the universe? Or will Vegeta?s new alliance with Gohan and Krillin prove to be a sufficient deterrence? Can our heroes get to the remaining Dragon Balls in time to summon the Dragon and make their wish? It?s a race for survival, and every second counts!The world tournament finally begins. Goten and Trunks are busy preparing in the exercise room where all junior contestants are. Then Hercule is introduced and everybody starts cheering, then the announcer tells everyone that they did a re-enactment about the fight with Cell but... with Hercule as the hero who defeats him. Finally, Trunks faces his first competitor, a blond haired bully, they start the fight and Trunks beats his opponent as if it were nothing. When Super Buu’s body begins to mutate once again, Goku and Vegeta have to get out fast! But what awaits them if they manage to escape? What is the insidious Buu turning into now? With Goku caught in the clutches of the giant ape Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan launch a desperate attempt to save him! All is for naught, however, as Krillin's Destructo Disk fails to sever the Saiyan's tail. But a single hope remains for reversing Vegeta's monstrous transformation, when an unlikely hero steps out of the shadows? Yajirobe!
