About this deal

It's also very lightweight. Weighing just 6kg, it's easy to move this between rooms. In comparison, some of the heaviest models we've reviewedweigh more than double. A downside to this lightweight design is that it has a relatively small two litre tank. Be prepared to empty it regularly if you have a damp house. Like many of the best dehumidifiers, the machine includes a laundry drying function. EcoAir claims this reduces clothes drying time to between two to four hours, although this depends on the type of clothing (heavier items such as jeans require longer). If you’ve had enough of waiting 24 hours or more for your washing to fully dry, the laundry function could be very useful.

Next to that there is also the fan mode with two settings; quiet and turbo. You can also easily adjust what EcoAir calls '3D Louvre targets', which allow you to direct the airflow either upwards or outwards. This is a super handy feature, especially when you’re trying to dry laundry. As well as being both compact and lightweight – the EcoAir DD1 Simple MK3 weighs just 6kg – this dehumidifier has a built-in carry handle on the top of the unit that makes moving it around the house super easy. Automatic shut-off– when the tank is full the DC12 switches off automatically to prevent overflowing. The EcoAir DD1 Simple MK3 also doesn't offer that much in terms of functionality. This is no all-singing all-dancing machine with a digital display, automatic sensors or Wi-Fi connectivity, but, that's also what I liked about it. There’s nothing complicated to get your head around, you can just plug it in and it gets to work straight away with no fuss or bother. There are three primary ranges of EcoAir dehumidifier. The DD range ofdesiccant dehumidifiers contains models such as the DD122 Classic MK5. The domestic range contains refrigerant modelsincluding the excellent DC12. EcoAir also produce a set of industrial dehumidifiers, although we won't focus on these in this article.A side effect of this difference in capacity is that the DC12 is 2dB quieter. This might not sound like much, but remember that the decibel scale is logarithmic so this is a noticeable difference. The DC12 is also 2.5 kilograms lighter so it’s easier to carry. Summary

The biggest downside to the DD322 is that it isn't as quiet as other desiccant models. If you're looking for an EcoAir bedroom dehumidifier, there are quieter options available. The DC12 and DC18 are very similar models. In fact, the only real difference is in the capacity. As the names suggest, the DC12 has a maximum capacity of 12 litres per day, while the DC18 can handle 18 litres per day. Both models have the same size water tanks and include identical control panels. It was difficult to test this feature during the review process because outside temperatures remained too mild. However, the EcoAir DD1 Simple MK3 is capable of operating in temperatures as low as 1 degree Celsius, which could be a big selling point if you're trying to clear damp in an unheated home or basement during winter. Users have commented on what a great job it does in removing moisture from the air and, like me, they're fans of how well it dries laundry. Extracting moisture in the home reduces humidity levels, protects properties, possessions and improves well being. Capable of extracting up to 12 Litres of water per day and collectable via internal tank (or by continuous drainage, where a hose is also included). I would only really recommend choosing the DC18 over the DC12 if you have a particularly damp home or issues like damp cellars, flooding or a home without double glazing causing moisture build up and condensation.
