NME is premiering a new episode of their SONG STORIES video series with an interview with E about the origins and recording of "Peach Blossom" from the new WONDERFUL, GLORIOUS EELS album. Watch it HERE. EELS barnstorming performance at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend is being heralded as one of the top highlights of the festival. The Telegraph calls the EELS appearance "a witty, energetic and musically stunning set" in their list of top 10 highlights, while The Independent says it was "a soulful, funny, crowd-winning show" in their list of top 5 highlights. NPR speaks to EELS leader E about his father, their relationship, and what it was like the night he died. Listen HERE. For me this album is perfect and I've been in love since I first heard "Novocaine for the Soul", Eels have been the most important band for me for most of my life, and I don't think I'd be able to judge this record objectively, but fortunately I don't have to. Why bring this up now? Because albums like Beautiful Freak would act as the musical equivalent of the psychiatrist's couch. Having taken North America by storm, the 2014 EELS tour now sets its course for Europe, starting tomorrow night, Sunday, June 15th in Oxford, England. See all the 2014 EELS tour dates HERE. Mr. E’s 12th Beautiful Playlist spotlights the originators and the very reason we all love music in the first place. Listen HERE.Though often bleak, Eels are not about misery, alternative-style. Through five years of therapy, E has learned to love life and conquer his depression. So while the line "When I came in to the world they slapped me, every day since then I'm slapped again," reeks of self-involvement, "But I know I'm gonna win" is the upbeat zinger. Eels take misery and upend it with humor and hope. If you missed or want to re-watch the award-winning PARALLEL WORLDS, PARALLEL LIVES documentary about EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett's search to learn more about his quantum physicist father, Hugh Everett III, you can now watch the full original version uninterrupted HERE. Learn more about the film HERE.

An April 4 show in Heerlen, Holland has been added to the 2013 EELS world tour. See all the EELS 2013 world tour dates HERE. Watch EELS leader E kiss the spot John Lennon once stood on the Royal Albert Hall stage in this funny NSFW clip from the upcoming EELS ROYAL ALBERT HALL concert film at Q Magazine now HERE. Not Ready Yet - The only time the grunge stuff really works for this album is on the lengthy "Not Ready Yet" which features enough guitar overdubs to hold one's interest throughout. (It's the longest song on the album at 4:46) This song shows me how good of a guitarist E really is. Quite impressive that he wrote all those overdubs himself. 4/5 FUSE interviews EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett aka E about his appearance in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series LOVE and more. Read it HERE. Returning this year with The Destruction, the first Eels album in four years, we took the opportunity to speak with E.Ryan, Gavin (2011). Australia's Music Charts 1988–2010. Mt. Martha, VIC, Australia: Moonlight Publishing. p.91. There are few albums that mean as much to me as Beautiful Freak. Through most of my teenage struggles, this record has been there and spent warmth and comfort, despite its melancholic nature. A 2nd EELS Amsterdam show has been added, April 2 at Paradiso. A 2nd Brussels show was added, but sold out before we even got a chance to announce it! Sorry about that! See all the EELS tour dates HERE.

It’s pretty effortless in that I get really fed up with one thing when I’ve finished the album, and the sound of one tour and all that, you get done with that after a year or two and you just naturally want to go somewhere else.“ You can hear "Steam Engine" from the upcoming EELS album due January 28th, 2022 right now, right HERE. Well, I was always quite happy to roll with it. I would often get home from a tour and start the next album the next day but then it got to a point where if you do any one thing too much in your life it will catch up with you. It finally caught up with me after the last album, The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett. After that I just really had to take a break, that’s why I didn’t put anything out for four years. It was just too many years of really intense focus and work and nothing else. So I had to give it a break.” Playing the last show of the tour for an overflowing and enthusiastic hometown audience in Los Angeles, CA EELS will perform live on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am Pacific, Friday, Feb. 15th.
