About this deal

You’ll get a smoother and a somewhat cleaner scent with Profondo. No huge herbal notes or incense. I really do like this one, just not as much. The only reason I can think of is to promote the new Acqua Di Gio Eau De Parfum, but still, to me, that doesn’t make any sense as Profumo was still very popular, very different from others, and still had pretty good sales numbers. For me, its type is similar to L'homme: masculine, fresh, elegant and spicy but not exaggerated. The durability and Sillage are however better than with YSL. No, they're not the same. But similar in style. You can tell I don't mind these fresh scents. :)

In the beginning I was a little scared, because right after spraying on the aquatic note is very present and stays for a while. I had to get used to it for the first time. Which fragrance is better? Eh, it’s a close call. However, I would lean more towards Profumo, since it has more originality than does Profondo. But, I enjoy both of them. Profondo is sort of the midway between AdG and Profumo. So, if you think Profumo is a little too much, Profondo will be a better bet for you. It’s a deeper and more marine Acqua di Gio. Patchouli is usually used as a note to give earthiness and masculinity and that’s exactly its role in Acqua Di Gio Profumo. Warmer days are perfect for Profumo, and I promise you will start wishing for a beach getaway! How Many Sprays of Acqua Di Gio Profumo is Enough?

As already mentioned I am quite new in the forum and have tested only a few scents compared to many here so far. I smell good (related to the sense of smell), but I'm not yet that good at filtering out individual components. At least not with all fragrances. Who wears the fragrance, stands with both feet firmly in life. Must prove no one what and knows exactly what he wants. Even though it was created in 2015, it still managed to find its way to our list of best spring fragrances for men in 2023 and it proudly holds that spot! Profondo has the impression of water and less of an oceanic feeling. They wanted to design it to be like diving to the depths and it does have that refreshing quality…but not a salty ocean scent. On average, Acqua Di Gio Profumo projects for the first 3-4 hours after the initial spray, and the projection distance is 4-6 feet.

Overall, Acqua Di Gio Profumo has really good longevity, projection, and sillage! When To Wear Acqua Di Gio Profumo? Incense from the base is very dominating and gives a calming feeling along with patchouli — the heart and top are light, seductive, and dreamy, while the base gives earthiness and masculinity. Acqua di Gio Profumo has been the best release from the AdG series to me. However, 2020 saw Armani bring Profondo to the market, and it has gotten plenty of praise. Which of these two fragrances smells better? Which lasts longer? Which is the better buy? In this post, I am going to compare these scents, before declaring an ultimate winner. For me, this fragrance certainly has niche character. Price / performance fit perfectly. 100ml for ca.80-90 euros. And the Mattschwarze flacon is a poem. My annual holiday was coming up and every time I fly on holiday I cover up with a new fragrance as a reward. I had 4-5 fragrances in my head that I wanted to get next, but some of them were sceptical if they could be bought at the Duty Free. Düsseldorf Airport has a good choice of fragrances, but it can't get close to Breuninger. "But" I thought to myself, "the Profumo is there for sure." I showed the Profumo to my better half at the airport. She found him megaa. That's how a man's supposed to smell and it smells great. Fresh spicy. ...

I wouldn’t recommend wearing Acqua Di Gio Profumo during winter, because cold temperatures won’t allow it to open properly and therefore it won’t be able to perform as it should. Performance is just amazing for a fresh fragrance and it’s so stable that I have no doubt that it will last and project for hours on your skin too.

Notes are beautiful and very well blended – Alberto Morillas is known for making killer combinations when it comes to fresh fragrances. Update: Profumo has been ‘discontinued’. Meaning, they’ve released a newer Acqua di Gio Parfum, which is basically the same thing, with maybe some slight alterations. I might now be tempted to go with Profondo, as I’ve seen a lot cheaper bottles of that floating around than either Parfum or old bottles of Profumo. But when that subsides and the wüzigen chords are added wir´s always nicer. When the incense then slowly joins in, it becomes milder and very pleasing. The aquatic note is perceptible all the time but not disturbing at all. It forms a good contrast to the other notes like the Patchouli. For me, the fragrance exudes elegance, style, class, and yes so I see it, also some reasonable sexiness. Many guys will enjoy Profondo more, however. If you weren’t sold on Profumo and liked the original AdG, I’d go with Profondo. Also, if you live in a really hot and humid region, Profondo may be a better buy. Short and sweet a really great fragrance that makes me even more masculine. In the evening you feel special and noble at the same time. I really enjoy wearing Profondo. I think that it is close enough to the original, but has enough difference to stand on its own. Especially, during the dry down stages. It becomes smooth and fairly nuanced, with woody notes and a nice sweetness.

Both of these fragrances for having marine/aquatic characteristics perform well and don’t just completely evaporate off of the skin. Though, Profumo is the more intense and long lasting of the line. Giorgio Armani is known for his good fragrances and has always been very popular and sought after when it comes to his fragrances.

My skin reacts amazingly to it, it always opens beautifully, and I get 8 hours of longevity without any problems – depending on the temperature, sometimes even 9+ hours. Acqua Di Gio Profumo smells like aromatic, fresh, and very masculine scent often reminding of Mediterranean beaches, saltwater, and a classy attitude. It definitely has original Acqua Di Gio DNA, you can clearly smell it and it’s like they a bit of heaviness to it. Acqua di Gio Profumo gives its wearer a certain elegance and self-confidence. An Acquat with woody spicy notes.
