About this deal

The first time I tried this stuff on, I freaked out and wondered "OMG WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST BUY?" but then the stale cigarette smell goes away after only about five minutes, and then it actually smells rather pleasant and sweet, like a fruity sweet, not gourmand.

I have not actually sprayed this on my body so I don't know how my body chemistry will work with it but on the dry flowers in my bathroom, this is wonderful. Silage is amazing, I smell this from the hallway outside the bathroom. Lasting power is maybe 4 hours? As a teen when I wore Giorgio it was a theatrical fantasy. I wasn't a little awkward dark haired girl. I was vibrant, I was a hair-sprayed blonde, I had a convertible and a phone shaped like a burger in my bedroom, all the boys at school were in awe of me and looked confusingly like they were in their mid 20's... The only irritating part is that it seems to remind ppl of scents which have nothing to do with each other. I really enjoy this fragrance, and every time I wear it, I get compliments from random strangers about how great I smell. At the doctors office, at the grocery store, just about everywhere. It is not my beloved Truth or Dare, which is much more creamier, and a true blend of the tuberose and gardenia, but I am really enjoying this fragrance until I find some thing a bit closer. Patchouli and honey bomb with some aldehydes enhancing the already formidable projection. All-day longevity. Priced to sell and worth every penny for lovers of old school 80s scents.

I've tried a lot of fragrances (both newer and older ones) and very few even come close, let alone beat, Giorgio.

As I chose to layer this one, I may not entirely like it on it's own, but it does remind me of the regalness associated with 4711 and of our voyage across two oceans in the 1970's. Well suited to spritzing generously on a hot summers day. Citrus and fruity opening followed by a blast of patchouli. It blends well with the soft floral notes in the centre and everything is tied up nicely with moss, wood and amber. My full bottle finally arrived today! And what a surprise it turned out to be. Not what I expected. Better! Potent is an understatement, but I was judicious in how I used it, never more than one mist-and-walk through spray. I would not let it shout, but its presence was delightfuly apparent, and in those days before it became available in department stores, I had many, many appreciative comments and compliments. "What IS that fragrance? It is WONDERFUL!" I don't think I've ever received as many compliments on a fragrance I've worn since. It was absolutely a head-turner, for both women and men. They say smell has a power to envoke feeling and memory and they really mean that. So I guess I'm adding this review for that reason more than anything. All I can give is the experience of it. It's probably not the same as it once was, but I was just stunned at smelling something that was so out of history itself it felt like I *was* there in a way. That's powerful, and its why after everything I think this scent still lingers, cheaply priced and dusty on bottom shelves, yellow veneer and stripes hidden behind the counters and bottles of everything that's in vogue now. A humbled homage to the last big thing before the current big thing. This is one of those spectacular old-fashioned fragrances from the 80s with a million different notes in it, and it would probably seem very dated to younger people now. But it smells like heaven to me! A wonderful blast from the past, and one you can find in its vintage formulation for not too much money today if you look hard enough. It definitely shares some DNA with another glorious fragrances from this era by Giorgio of Beverly Hills, Red for Men.
