About this deal

A box containing just enough chemicals to develop, stop, fix and wash 2 x 35mm films or 1 x 120 roll, for a simple introduction to B&W film developing. This developer is highly concentrated and can be used in spirals, deep tanks, rotary processors and in roller transport processors. It is available as a 1L item and at a variety of different dilutions: 1+11, 1+15, 1+19, 1+31, 1+39, 1+47 and 1+79. Machine processing developers (for labs) ILFOTEC DD I was worried I’d have to really search deep to find the differences. And while it may not be painfully obvious, it is very clear that there is a difference between the two developers.

This developer is designed for use in dip and dunk replenished processors. It is used in conjunction with ILFOTEC DD starter. The chemistry can be replenished, has a long tank life and a good resistance to contamination. It is available as a 1L item, with a 5L replenisher item available too. It is used at a 1+4 dilution. ILFOTEC RT RAPID Maybe Ilford Ilfosol-3 Developer is the one for you – especially if you’re shooting on plastic cameras. I’m not going to lie – I knew, or made an educated guess, that the results would differ – but I wasn’t sure they’d be super noticeable. This developer gives a good performance with all our paper products producing a neutral to slightly warm image tone. It has good keeping properties, so can typically be reused, and is available as 500ml, 1L and 5L items.

This developer gives a good performance with all our paper products and produces a slightly warm image tone. t has good keeping properties, so can typically be reused, and is available as a 1L item. It should be diluted at a ratio of 1+9 which will produce approximately 600 resin coated 10x8" prints or 350 fibre base 10x8" prints. Machine processing developers (for labs) 2150 XL You can always add more contrast, but removing it is much harder. DD-X helped create a detailed image with rich tonality. Photo taken on Ilford HP5 with a Hasselblad 503cx and 150mm f/4 lens What are the downsides of DD-X? I’ve developed hundreds of rolls of film over the last couple of years, and DD-X has been by far my favorite developer for most of that time. The results that this solution gets are second to none with faster films, which is one of the major reasons why I almost always keep a bottle of it on my shelf to this day.

The entire kit is used in a 2150 processor - the correct working strength end volume is generated from the processing machine automatic water top up. The 3L kit should produce approximately 1000 resin coated 10x8" prints and is designed to be used at 35C (95F). 2000RT Closely related in formulaic terms, they are both liquid concentrated developers that have both been tried and tested over the years. Ilfotec DD-X is the best developer for developing B&W film that is ISO 400 and above. This liquid-concentrate developer enhances shadow details, and creates images with rich tonality, making it one of the top options for pushing film without creating overly-grainy images. In fact, the only developer on the market that pushes film better is Ilford’s Microphen, which is a niche developer that comes in powdered format rather than liquid. If you’re the type of photographer who often pushes your film and likes having a liquid developer, DD-X is going to be one of the best developer choices. DD-X will not let you down, no matter what kind of lighting you throw at your negatives. This machine developer is primarily designed for use with our resin coated papers in roller transport processors. It gives a neutral to slightly cool image tone and is available as a 5L item. It is designed to be used at temperatures of between 20-40C (68-104F) and at a 1+4 dilution. Since I wanted to compare like to like, I went out with two Holga 120n cameras (yes, I own two – it’s fine, it’s totally fine!). Our liquid concentrate developers are easy to use/mix and fit into 3 categories - those for spiral/deep tank processing, those for machine processing (as in labs), and specialist developers. Spiral/deep tank processing developers ILFOTEC DD-X

All the following powder developers are suitable for spiral tank processing, deep tank processing and rotary tank processing. ID-11I started by putting a roll of Ilford HP5+ in each Holga and shot the same image for the entire roll. The last downside is that DD-X is not an environmentally-friendly chemical. Like most developers, DD-X made from the phenols dimezone and hydroquinone, which come from the petrochemical industry. It’s not safe to place in a septic tank and is known to be toxic to aquatic life downstream. It can be used at either 1+9 or 1+14 dilutions. A 1L bottle used at 1+9 dilution should produce approximately 1000 resin coated 10x8" prints or 500 fibre base 10x8" prints. PQ UNIVERSAL
