The team of players unfolds a poster-sized map about 45 by 30 inches (114cm ×76cm) on which is illustrated an urban area depicting characters performing ordinary daily tasks such as eating, working, or attending events. [3] What is most impressive about this game is how it does so much with such a limited amount of materials. The only thing you receive is a large map and a number of cases. Thats it, the rest of the game is up to you. No dice, no turns, just you and your friends pouring over a map trying to spot tiny details. And yet it is so unbelievably fun! The artwork in particular is absolutely fantastic and unbelievably detailed. By now I’m sure I’ve spotted every detail, and yet even writing this review when I glance over the map beside me I notice something new. The map is large, about 3ft by 5ft (or about 0.91 x 1.52 in metric), but insanely detailed. Normally I’d put this under the positives, but unless you’ve got REALLY good lighting, or fantastic eyesight, you might have trouble with this game. Because MicroMacro: Crime City is all about the detail, you’ve really got to be able to get in close and see what’s going on. In some cases the area we needed to examine was less than an inch (2cm).

Kislányom imádja a böngésző könyveket, sőt ez nekünk sokszor családi program, hogy keresgetünk dolgokat bennük, egymásnak adunk feladatokat. Gondoltam, hogy ez tök izgi lenne családi játéknak., de azért nem feltétlenül szeretném mindig megkerestetni vele "a bácsit, akinek kés áll ki a hátából" :) As a final note, I’ve decided to award this game the special The Escape Roomer Badge of Honour, awarded to games we thought were incredible. This game is rightly billed as a cooperative game (for 1-4) but because of the way the game is played you’d be hard pressed to get 3 people involved, much less 4. In fact even 2 people is a challenge once you’re on a solid lead. If you’re just scanning the map for clues then having a second person is an excellent addition. But once you’re zooming in to a few square inches it’s just too hard to share space. I spread the cases out among my three sons and they all seemed to think that was mostly fair. Great for adding content and fun little pictures but good lighting and even better eye sight is needed. There is a magnifying glass (of a sorts) included but I didn’t find this much help. Sometimes I found the detail hard to make out and spot but I found that once I had got “my eye in” things started to become clearer. The map is very well detailed though. There are a lot of city events happening and fun little things to look out for. Key To The Case Since the whole thing is in white line art, I’m impishly tempted to colour it in.
