About this deal

NOTE: When your snowman is correctly aligned, the edges of the two connector pieces won’t match up exactly. This won’t cause any issues with attaching the two pieces together, however. Place your four white pieces with cutout designs for the body (two of Piece A) and head (Pieces B and C) face down. Use a scraper to fold all the tabs (other than the two at the top or bottom) in the same direction. Also fold along the three center connections of each piece. Also, feel free to add a few faux florals and even a bird or two to perch on your lights just so. 19. Ice Ornaments St. Martin was a man known for riding through a dark and snowy winter night, dividing his coat with his sword into two pieces and to give away one half to a poor beggar who was sitting shivering with cold and totally lost in the snow. Without waiting for a thank you he rode away with only half of his coat left. What a generous man! Have fun! SHARE YOUR CREATIONS WITH US With the correct layers selected, change the Operation at the top from "Basic Cut" to "Score." The lines are now dashed to indicate the machine will score instead of cut them.

So grab a pair of sturdy scissors and a pencil, ruler, and, of course, your toilet paper rolls. You’ll also need a hot glue gun and a bottle of paint to polish off your snowflakes. Next we need a snowman nose: With a real snowman, we would of course use a carrot. But for your lantern a real carrot just won't cut it. We've cut a triangle out from orange foam, which works perfectly. But you could use orange card, or even draw your own carrot and cut it out. There’s nothing that can beat homemade ornaments. They don’t have to be fancy or elegant, as long as you enjoy making them. Do the same thing with the rest of the tabs, making sure to hold the top of the hat in place against the brim while waiting for the glue to dry on each tab. When you’re finished, your hat should look similar to mine.

NOTE: If you'd like to put a tea light or fairy lights inside your finished snowman, you can use either file version. However, you will get some light leaking out of the dashed cut lines if you use that version. I’m sure you have a few bowls and light globes like the ones you see here lying around. Isn’t it time you did something with them, like repurpose or upcycle them? But if you live somewhere tropical, then you’ve got more chances of seeing Santa Claus than seeing snow. That means you’re going to have to contend with these snow ornaments. Not to sound too dramatic, but I’d sell an arm to find out how these gorgeous ice ornaments are made. They look so natural, don’t they?

2. Reindeer Driftwood Ornaments

In some of the bigger German lantern parades - like the one taking place beginning of November in Hyde Park in London - you can even see St. Martin leading the crowd of children and parents, riding on a real horse and dressed in traditional clothes from many centuries ago. These white paper bag luminaries are super easy to make, and there’s absolutely no fuss about gathering supplies or drawing elaborate snowmen. Just a simple, and straightforward snowman and that’s it. This winter wonderland wreath has such a lovely flush of pink right at the center of all that snowy white. There’s also a ton of different textures from the pompoms, the spiky bottlebrush(look here) trees, and the fuzzy, foamy wreath form.

A sweet baby fawn snuggles close while a beautiful red Poinsettia adorns his base. He's sure to make a great addition to your holiday display for years to come! I made my snowman’s face out of 3mm plywood, which I had left over from making these picture frame ornaments. Don’t worry if you don’t have 3mm plywood or if you don’t want to buy any. You can use nearly any thin plywood-like material instead. For instance, I used old pieces of ⅛” beadboard paneling to create these mitten ornaments, but almost any thin material, like lauan, hardboard, etc., could work. So before we start making, what will you need for a snowman lantern?

Then attach the center tab following the same process, and finally attach the bottom tab. If you have trouble holding the tabs in place, a spatula can help. When you’re finished, your combined piece should look similar to mine, with one vertical seam connected and the other still open. Now you can add a tea light or fairy lights inside and display your snowman on a tabletop, mantle, or shelf to brighten up your holiday season! I love seeing what you make with my designs and how you use them! Please share a photo of your light up snowman in our Facebook group or tag me on social media with #jennifermaker. You can also spray some glitter to add a bit of sparkle to your snowflakes. There really are a ton of ways to jazz up plain old toilet paper. Then, take the other circular piece with tabs along the inside edge -- the hat’s brim (Piece M) -- and fold those tabs upward where their corners meet.
