In addition to the A-series, there are also the B and C series. The B series extends the range of paper sizes available in the A-series, while the C series is limited to envelopes. The X4 challenges the paradigmatic understanding that certain designs (Single or U-stem? Three lobes or Four?), come with certain compromises. Like the C3, the X4 attempts to find a balance between four-lobed, single-stem cams and TCUs. The head width on the 0.1 X4, for example, is comparable to the purple 0 Master Cam. The C3 cams do this nicely in several ways—they have the extremely narrow head width (and high lobe surface area relative to head width) of TCUs, but the dual stem sits inside so the cams fit into flares a bit better than the classic U-stem TCU. The C3s also have some stem flexibility (in one direction at least), a quality typically found in single-stem cams. While I agree there really is some logic behind the US paper sizes I suggest the gentleman taking umbrage be a little more sensitive to the US approach to ignoring international standards in this and many related areas. Fine… but either my printer or Libre Office (or both) have quietly had an update such that they no longer handle half-letter size. I can still put the paper in the software and/or printer insist on rescaling what’s printed. (I haven’t tried printing to PDF and then printing that – and I’m not even sure that would work.)

I tested the 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, and 0.75—the two smallest and largest sizes. Interestingly, there are significant design differences across the line, particularly between the smaller half of the line (0.1, 0.2, 0.3) and the larger half (0.4, 0.5, 0.75). I’ll get into those specifics a bit later on.The forms that were not letter size were statement size (exactly half the size of the Letter-Size sheet of paper 🙂 At one time I the task of printing out blue prints stored on microfilm embedded in punch cards: I think F is the largest size I remember seeing on a regular basis but I am almost positive that they go larger than that (I mean in the US Standard Letter Sizes).
