Firstly, I swapped the metal bracelet. While some people dig them, I prefer nylon or resin. The metal bracelet on mine also immediately broke, so I couldn't wear it if I wanted to. I swapped to an 18mm NATO strap, with a tri-color theme. I dig it, and it pairs well with the watch. The modified case of my silver AE-1200WH. Contrary to the design materials of the rest of the watch the Casio AE1200 is presented on a stainless steel strap (AE-1200WHD-1AVEF has stainless steel other models vary). The strap is of a segmented link design held together with leaf springs so it is reactively simple to size without requiring specific tools. It has a single fold, dual pusher clasp which feels secure and unlikely to disengage of its own accord even when exercising or heavy lifting, the clasp is plain apart from the Casio name stamped into one end. Overall the strap is of a simple design but very functional and looks good, if anything it would have been nice if Casio has used the same stainless steel to manufacture the watch case, but again we cannot have everything at this price point. As is visible in the image, the chamfers have a slightly lighter colour to them than the rest of the case. Whilst watch enthusiasts tend to favor mechanical watches, there is just something special about throwing on a funky digital watch. Plus, in many cases, it can be more practical considering all their helpful functions. And in the case of the Casio AE1200WHD-1A, there are also times when you want to wear something affordable so that you don’t have to worry about getting scratches or damages. Oh, and by the way, the Casio AE1200WHD-1A has a price tag of about 20 USD.

I really like the watch. The design is really cool and there are plenty of features in the watch. The world time stuff is only useful to me to a very limited extent, but I mostly got it for the design anyway. The watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet, which is an interesting contrast to the otherwise light plastic case. The button tones on the mode button can be switched off for discreet operation. Pre-set alarm or timer functions remain active.NON-EU RESIDENTS. First of all, credit to Casio for making the watch easy to mod. To take it apart, I just had to take out 4 screws and pull the module out. ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE LOSS OR DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF USE, DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR COST OF PROCURING SUBSTITUTE SERVICES), WHICH ARISES UNDER ANY LAW (INCLUDING THE LAW OF NEGLIGENCE) AND WHICH RELATES TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SOFTWARE OR ANY RELATED SERVICES. After about a month, the mod kit finally arrived.

One gripe I have is the engraving text colour. It is possible to just get the engravings without the colour, but I got this one because it seemed better to me.When I cast a close eye on the case, I was both surprised and disappointed. I was pleased to see how the guards around the buttons are so clearly defined, but that plastic mold parting line around the mid-case is pretty awful. I also had to question the wisdom of those faux fasteners at the corners. I know the Bond Seiko had them too, but those Roger Moore movies had all kinds of stupid shit in them. You need to be reasonable about such things. None of the edges are terribly crisp, but where that might bug me on a metal watch, I didn’t think twice about them on this plastic unit.
