About this deal

Editor's Note 2/2/23:Readers may be interested in this newly published Video of the Making of Aiyima T9 Pro. It shows in detail how an Aiyima product is made.

I am now completely satisfied with the Aiyima in my modified System 1 and am streaming with a smile. Everything is good and that little bit of tube sheen is highly desirable. I shall conclude Part I. In Part II I shall likely be using the T9 as Preamp in my Living Room System 2 (which is why I bought the T9 in the first place). For that I shall restore my original System 1, which would be a real test. The last A in ABA is always more important than the AB. Now for some tidying up: I haven’t listened to the optical or coaxial inputs so I can’t comment on them, but overall, the music is quite enjoyable on this unit despite the negatives. As one person put it, it’s “disposable hifi”. If it dies one day, so what. Toss it out and get another one. As a rule, don't forget to tell me what you use, and what do you think of the sound, and reservations if any! I am encountering issues when I hook two different examples of a T9 pro up to a Sony CDP-CX355 carousel CD player via the Optical connector. When I got this AIYIMA T9 PRO 200W Bluetooth Amplifier, and saw how small it is, I thought, "No Way." However, "way". I am using it to drive Fluance Reference High Performance 2-Way Bookshelf and Surround Sound Speakers, and this seems to be an excellent match. The system has to be loud enough for me to hear the music when I practice jazz drums. I have been playing for many years, and, like many jazz drummers, I pride myself on not having to play loud. Nevertheless, the system has to be pretty darn loud. It seems that the amp delivers enough power even when the input is not excessively high. If i set my music playing software so that the amp's vu meter gets into the red a lot, The system delivers more than enough decibels for me to practice, and without much distortion. No need to drive the vu into the red for ordinary listening, and then the music sounds great with no noticeable distortion. Finally I capitulated and connected the amp to the larger loudspeakers (still with the Mogami cables).

A: If you use a power supply other than the original standard, please replace the power supply before testing. Many power sources on the market have large interference coefficient of the text wave, which will cause a large current sound. All in all, it's a cute, convenient, do-it-all small box that you can live with, say the second, third or whichever sub-system you are setting, like study/working desk, (dry) patio. Please read my reply to the other reader above. Set your crossover around 100 Hz and maybe go downwards slowly to see what you like. It changes what you perceive even if your main loudspeakers haven't changed at all.

This Round's Classical Pick

but oh well you can do the tube rolling for fun but consider the cost of the unit it's kinda in a weird spot unless you already have some tubes lying around. (and yeah, I happened to have a pair of 6Ж1П-ЕВ lying around.) Secondly, the T9 does not have a built in phono preamp, therefore, if you want to use the T9 with your turntable, you will either need to have an external phono preamp (like my Vincent PHO-8) or have a turntable with a built in preamp. More information here if you are unsure if you need a phono preamp or not. The IPS display comes in very handy, as it is big enough for you to see the current input from 6 feet and more away. If you dig into the menu, you'll have to move closer to the unit. When I listen to orchestral pieces like Bartok's "Concerto for Orchestra", I like to hear good instrument separation. I think that this class D amp with vacuum tubes does that better than my good Sony AVR TV room driving vintage Bang and Olufsen front speakers. (Polk Surround) speakers. This difference in sound may be just a matter of taste. Then i hooked the Aiyima T9 up to my Mission LX-2's which are warmer sounding than the Q acoustics, and found that they were a much better match with the Aiyima .

It should be noted that the “LS3/5A” is less efficient than the Floorstanding Sansui in the study. In the latter, after significant revamping ( here), I can get utter tube bliss with my APPLause 300B amp - no apologies, no if’s, and’s or but’s. Not quite so in the larger LR. As to whether this loudspeaker really replicates the legendary BBC sound, the answer is more complicated and shall have to wait for a later article.

Since then I have concentrated on my Blog. It is nice to be able to archive everything well and not let things get covered by waves of garbage. Writing articles take lot more than than posting in forums. Many have long periods of gestation and repeated revisions and editing. I hope you enjoy them. This Aiyima T9 is the third integrated amplifier of my comparative test, which has dealt with the Rega Io and the Argon SA1. Actually, these three amps are not perfectly comparable, in the sense that each one has different features, but they have in common similar size and power output. Prices are between 200 and 500€. Technically they differ, since each one represents different approaches: from the traditional, full solid-state Rega Io, to the pure Class D Argon SA1 to this hybrid tubes/Class D Aiyima T9. In For One to Love, Cecile McClorin .Salvant sings an absolutely ravishing Le Mal de Vivre (original Barbara). She gives a completely new dimension to the song. The subtle use of inflections in her perfect French tests microdynamics.

The medium-grey matte finish is flawless, and the manufacturing quality excellent considering the modest asking price.

The vacuum tubes need some warm up time, DO NOT JUDGE the sound of this amp before, say, 10 minutes. During the first few minutes it sounds horrible.
