About this deal

On the first mission of Lightfall, he sends out a message to the Shadow Legion boasting about the benefits that their partnership with the Witness was already bringing them. I believe he actually deluded himself into thinking he and the Witness were equals. Equal thinkers, equal leaders, equal philosophers and visionaries. He certainly did not see himself as a slave, which is what he actually ended up becoming. Rune Compatibility II (3000 imperials) – Grants the ability to obtain and slot green runes, which can be used to guarantee the drop of class-specific head armor, Hand Cannons, and Sidearms.

The end point of this would of course lead Calus to becoming a statue, but leaving him like that with his mind intact would be a bit horrific. I’d expect that we use Strand to force his mind into the statue and thus when it is destroyed he goes with it, or that we entirely destroy his mind with Strand and then destroying the statue, likely done by Caiatl, is entirely symbolic. And that hole in Calus's heart ate him alive right until his demise. By Calus screaming that name as he died, he was honest with his own feelings and confronted his pain directly instead of choosing to escape from it. To begin the fight, split your team into two groups. One team will consist of two members who are good at killing things. These will be what we call your Standard seekers. The sescond group will consist of the remaining four fireteam members and they will be your Standard defenders. Given that Season of Opulence is all about Emperor Calus and the Leviathan, it’s no surprise that this emote is going to be a hot commodity. As mentioned above, the emote has received an update at the start of Season of Opulence. Now, whenever you activate the emote, the sitting animation will last indefinitely. It used to be an extremely short emote that finished shortly after the chalice was thrown away. So I think it's logical to expect a similar ‘away mission’ during Lightfall, to break up the flow of the campaign - in fact these often happen for those sorts of reasons of pacing and area variety, for instance going to the EDZ for a mission in Curse of Osiris and Warmind, or going to the Lunar Pyramid during Haunted.Emperor Calus, the hedonistic ruler of the Leviathan, has been watching you for some time. He invites you to Nessus, offering riches. Note: During this Standard collection process, do not kill any of the Standard Bearers that do not correlate to the symbols in reality. This is very obnoxious, as they’re all snipers and will be trying to kill your teammates while you’re in the shadow realm. However, you still have a timer in the shadow realm, and you’ll lose time if you kill the wrong Standard Bearer. Calus was a man capable of deep and powerful feelings, but he didn't know how to actually process them healthily, how to understand them. The loss of Caiatl's mother impacted him greatly and was probably a source of immense guilt that he drowned out with further vice rather than try and confront it, and his jealousy over his daughter showing a war beast more affection than she did him led him to have it killed. Calus expected love, and he wanted it more than anything else in the world, but he was incapable of actually reflecting on his actions and working to improve himself.

As for the Witness, I think it understood exactly how damaged Calus was, and it rubbed it all over his face throughout his time as a Disciple. The Witness is very entrenched in its belief that life is suffering, and I think Calus was the perfect illustration of everything it sees wrong with life. When the Witness says that all living things cry out for Salvation, it thinks of people like Calus. The two players who teleport into the obstacle course will have to call out the ring that they see illuminated. However, they must also call out the symbol that they see above the course. For example, you might see the War Dog symbol, with the green ring being at the top. The course runner would then call out, “War Dog. Top.” This is vital information to the four shooters on the outside of the course. The Caiatl boss fight can be a bit confusing, as the bells take on a slightly different role during the damage phase. But other than that slight surprise, the fight works very similarly to the other two encounters in this dungeon. In the middle we see two noble, armoured figures - again I think these are Cloudstriders, especially because there’s two of them - pushing against an eye-shaped thing.

Destiny 2: how to defeat Pagouri

This destroyed the relationship he had with Caiatl's mother, who is heavily implied to have killed herself, and prevented any sort of bond being formed with his daughter. If you read again the Lightfall collector's lore, you'll notice that every time Caiatl asks him about his mother, he always shifts the topic to something else or otherwisely completely ignores the question. When they're watching Ghaul fight in the Torobatl gladiator pits, Caiatl straight up asks if her mom killed herself, and Calus doesn't even pretend that he heard the question. Now that he's gone, no one mourns his passing. His daughter is thankful that he died. His Legion don't even honor him like the Red Legion did for Ghaul and just march on, for their true master had always been the Witness, who has moved on to greater matters and considered Calus a useful tool and nothing beyond that. The only thing that remains of him is that ugly sphinx on the face of the Typhon Imperator, but at this point that sphinx isn't intimidating or majestic or grand or anything Calus probably thought it would embody. The next area is a massive chasm you must work across to reach the Dark Shrine. Go right and work along the wall to reach the red doorway across the gap.

Finally, there's Hasapiko, Beloved By Calus, a giant Vex Boss who shoots projectiles and will throw waves of Deletion Walls at you. Calus was very popular with the people, something problematic for others later; he became friends with many. Among them was Iska'al, a poor merchant who sold Calus teas and spoke about the emperor's troubles with him. Calus did have problems during his rule, however. The Evocate-general Umun'arath was fixated on war, along with his daughter the Princess-Imperial Caiatl. [3] The reason you stand on an activation plate is to start moving the large chain that sits nearby. When you’re on the plate, the chain moves. When you’re off the plate, the chain stops. The goal here is to keep all four chains (one for each of the four activation plates) moving. The problem is, when your Psionic Protection buff expires, the water you’re standing in will hurt you. Therefore, it’s essential to rotate players. When your Psionic Protection buff is expiring, a Guardian from your fireteam needs to switch with you so they can hold your plate. You’ll then move to the center and retrieve the respawning Psionic Protection buff from the orb, and then move out to replace someone else whose buff is about to expire. Rune Slot 1: Armor rolled with this rune active is guaranteed to be greaves, boots, or strides, depending on your class. And that is because it’s been in front of us all along - in the pupils of every Psion you’ve got close to, or a squished form being to the right of Nimbus' headshots, a Neomunan visual motif. In terms of weapons, Gjallarhorn remains a worthwhile weapon for boss damage and Divinity works well with the Seasonal Artifact Trace Rifle mods. Other than those, use weapons that synergize well with your build – things like Funnelweb, The Title, and Austringer. I think it’s fair to say that The Communion mission in The Witch Queen was really cool. Leaving the Throne World to revisit the previous destination again and see in greater detail it’s Pyramid, which we had really only scratched the surface of. Carry on through to the next section, The Crystals. There's a special Void Cannon that will spawn that you can use to shoot the crystals. They have a limited ammo supply, so try not to use them on enemies. When Calus and the Witness first speak on Lightfall, Calus starts with calling himself great and glorious and powerful and tries to engage in all the usual pizzaz, and then the Witness dismissively turns to leave, not even reacting to his "I'm jolly and living the high life baby!" act which at this point you should understand is extremely fake.

To begin the encounter, all five orbs must be collected at the same time. This means one Guardian on each of the outside plates, and one in the middle. The Invitation: Return to Werner 99-40 on the Imperial Barge on Nessus and open the chest that awaits you.

Aaaaand while I'm speaking about nanotech I'll say that before Seraph I strongly believed Willa Bray would be on Neomuna. After Seraph I'm much less confident in that, but hey it's worth mentioning.
