About this deal

Starting with Canadian Club. I’ll say this: if you like whisky sweet, this one is probably for you. It has hints of apple, liquorice, fennel, and caramel, and you’re likely to experience some brown sugar and baking spice in there. In fact, I tasted liquorice first, but the other flavours marry well and mixed with it. First, I want to go over the various elements we’ve talked about so far, putting these two whiskies head-to-head in a showdown. Bourbon is a style of whiskey that must be produced in the United States. Unlike other whiskeys, bourbon must be made according to specific regulations. These include a mash bill composed of at least 51 percent corn, the strength at which it is distilled and bottled, and aging in new, charred oak barrels. Over the years, Canadian distillers have perfected their craft, producing some of the finest whiskey in the world.

Canadian Club is a brand of Canadian whisky produced by Beam Suntory. Popularly known as CC, Canadian Club was created by Hiram Walker and Sons, an evolution of a brand around a product that took place over the second half of the nineteenth century. Hiram Walker merged with Gooderham & Worts, Ltd. in 1926, yielding Hiram Walker-Gooderham & Worts, Ltd.So far, I’ve talked about Seagram’s VO and Canadian Club as individuals. Now, it’s time to tie it all together to help you make a decision about what’s right for you. Canadian Club was a frequent product placement in the AMC show Mad Men, often being the drink of choice for the main character Don Draper.

Launched in Australia in April 2001, Canadian Club Mixed & Ready is a ready-to-drink (RTD) mix consisting of a 4.8% ABV pre-mixed blend of six-year-old Canadian Club with dry ginger ale, cola, or soda and lime. It is sold in 330mL bottles and 375mL cans. All flavours are also available in New Zealand. An Australian advertising campaign to pitch Canadian Club to those who were "over beer" was hugely successful, and launched internationally. [9] 6% ABV "Premium Strength" is available only in 375mL cans and is mixed with dry ginger ale. [10] Limited edition / Discontinued [ edit ] Canadian Club Whisky became famous after it was featured as the drink of choice for Don Draper in Mad Men, a television series. Jon Hamm played the character well, and it’s said that he drinks it to this day. Nose: Canadian Club is more on the sweet side, while Seagram’s VO is more bitter-tasting and will likely give you nail polish vibes. The great thing about combining Canadian Club with lemonade is that it’s incredibly easy to make. All you need are two parts of the whisky, one part of the lemonade, and some ice. Pour them all into a glass over some ice, stir it up and enjoy. This sweet but tart combination makes for an incredibly smooth drink that everyone will love. The sweetness from the lemonade helps to cut through the bold taste of the whisky while still allowing its flavor to shine through. Can You Mix Canadian Club with Coke

There’s no age statement for Canadian Club, and it’s actually a blend of three different whiskies. You might be surprised to learn that it was originally crafted in Detroit, though they moved to Ontario, Canada, after Prohibition. However, you also have to think about taste. It’s nice to spend as little as possible, but you want it to be good. Most whiskies have sweet notes to them, which is part of the enjoyable uniqueness of them. Therefore, lemon, apricot, and the slight sweetness from Seagram’s VO might be more your style. Those who prefer sweet drinks will likely want to choose Canadian Club.

Distilled spirits are not like wine and don’t improve with age after bottling. The taste of whiskey will not change from the day it leaves the distillery, and while it could get worse, no length of time will make a bad whiskey taste good.
