About this deal

The only gripe I really have is that the height of the taller end of the tent(entrance end), is just slightly too low. I am 5ft 2inches and can crouch well, but found it uncomfortable to sit upright whilst sitting out a rainstorm.

Value for money, a good middle ground between a standard 2man tunnel and a minimalistic tunnel tent

Where to Buy

Ventilation is good with two mesh panels in the fly protected by hoods. Also, a half moon vent can be unzipped in the D shaped door panel. Mine is obviously an older model. No windows, no ark type poles. It pitches inner first and the inner is mostly mesh which means it's well ventilated. When touring in warmer parts of Europe I've often left the fly off. Great for taking advantage of any slight breeze and brilliant for stargazing from the comfort of your 'bag. It rained continuously during my first night. The ventilation panels did their job, with not a drop of condensation present. That said, this was a mild July night and I was using the tent solo, so I cannot comment as to the outcome if those variables had been significantly different.

I waterproof it often and havn't had any leaks, no broken zips or anything. Patched a small tear in the door with an offcut from the tent bag. Its low, thin and long so is really discreet (one of the requests for Wild camping on Dartmoor). It is also very light. It's shape lends itself very well to the wind.

I am 6ft 6 in height and one of the biggest problems I have when camping is the sleeping area is too short. I fit nicely in this one. Not a bad tent for the price, too small for two full size people (maybe two teenagers on DoE), but nice size for one person +bag. I needed a reasonably lightweight tent for a one-off cycle tour and did not want to spend the significant, three figure sum that top of the range tents retail for. Also, being ultra lightweight was not so important to me. First pitched in snow it worked perfectly, Woke up to torrential rain once that had turned the ground into a pool, the groundsheet stood up to the task and didn't let a drop of water through. The tent forms a wedge with the foot end both narrower and lower. Point that bit into the wind. (yes I know, then the wind changes direction, but at least we tried eh?)
