The AOC G2790VX is mostly built out of plastic, so it doesn’t feel as durable as other options in its category. It can feel cheap and fragile for some, but it is actually quite durable for a budget monitor. The stand has a slight wobble but it won’t be an issue if your desk is stable and you don’t pound on your keyboard while gaming.

Some ghosting will be noticeable on the C24G1A, too, but mostly in dark scenes only and to a much lesser degree. Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. First of all, you'll need to make sure FreeSync is enabled on your monitor. Not all FreeSync monitors have FreeSync enabled by default, so you'll probably have to root around in your monitor's menu settings a bit (the location will vary by monitor manufacturer) to make sure it's switched on. However, we think the AOC G2790VX’s omissions such as its downgraded stand or its very limited input options can become deal-breakers. The AOC 27G2 has better specs at the same price, although it uses an IPS panel instead of VA. This model is a decent buy if you specifically want a VA panel, but there are better options otherwise. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC.

Adaptive-Sync is supported as well, providing you with a variable refresh rate (VRR) for tear-free gameplay as long as you have a compatible graphics card by AMD (FreeSync) or NVIDIA (G-SYNC Compatible). Moving on, the AOC G2490VX features a wide 93% DCI-P3 color gamut (equivalent to ~126% sRGB) for more saturated and lifelike colors, and it has true 8-bit color depth support (16.7 million colors without dithering).

Thanks to its high contrast ratio, decent peak brightness (considering the price) and wide color gamut support, some HDR content will look a bit better. The stand included with the AOC G2790VX only offers tilt which severely limits your setup options. The simpler mechanism reduced its dimensions, but that’s not a worthy sacrifice in our opinion. Thankfully, it’s removable so you can use a VESA mount, but that will add cost to your upgrade if you don’t already have one lying around. After calibration, you’ll be surprised about how AOC’s display expertise and high-quality panels ensure that most AOC monitors require only small amounts of calibration or no significant changes at all.is a bit too stretched at 27 inches, so the monitor can appear less sharp than its smaller siblings.
