George performs marvellously on carpets, whether wet or dry… that’s why millions of customers love it so much. It’s a little bulkier than some of the more lightweight models (if lightweight is important to you, we direct you towards Charles, his bluer, lighter cousin). While the traditional Henry has an A class energy efficiency rating, other models don’t match it. The worst is actually the Harry, which has a C class energy efficiency rating. It is important because a higher consumption vacuum cleaner will use more, costing you more in power. They aren’t as environmentally friendly either, so if being E-friendly is important to you the basic Henry is the better model. Size & Shape George is a bagged vacuum cleaner, He runs using regular, one-size-fits-all Henry Range bags. They do not cost much. In terms of appearance, Numatic George is similar to the rest of the Henry family with his smiling face and bright eyes. He is green in colour and therefore is most similar to Harry the Hoover from the Henry range. If you want an upright carpet cleaner for a similar price, that you can also push across dirty carpets without needing to scrub, then the Bissell HydroWave is a good option. This doesn’t also operate as a vacuum cleaner, but has a number of useful storage features including a retractable handle and a handy drip tray. The rotating brush bars will agitate your carpet for you, but it isn’t designed for hard floors.

An additional versatility with the Henry range are the bags. You can use the same set of bags throughout the majority of their machines. The wet and dry, the pet hair, and the larger models all use a one-size-fits-all-capacities bag. It makes it easier to shop. Durability & Reliability​ Harry is a lot like his older brother Henry except he’s been design specifically for pet lovers. So, if you have a few four-legged friends running around this could be for you.

George is a just one of the best wet and dry vacuums on the market. He is capable of all the tasks that Charles can handle... and much much more. Charles is designed to shine in the wet – and this is indeed where it has the edge over the competition. Having a vacuum which can clean up spillages is a major bonus. If you’ve ever had a big spill in your home or even had a problem with the plumbing you know exactly how difficult it can be to clean it up. Not with a Charles in the house. Asides from performance, the George is a little on the bulky side for moving around your car. We are perfectly willing to overlook this, however, owing to the fact that it saves you the cost of a full valet service. The Henry Wash vacuum is the newest release in Numatics wet vacuum range. This is a true wet vacuum with all of the wet features and tools that george has.. but comes with nothing to use him as a dry vacuum. This means he is a less money than George too.

The Henry range have tremendous amounts of colour to them – but only one (very distinctive) style. If it has that big happy face, if the nose is the vacuum hose, and if it perpetually, moronically, and frustratingly never stops grinning? It’s a Henry. Along with the wet and dry floorheads, the George comes with a range of accessories as part of Numatic’s “Wash Kit.” These include: Home carpets go through a lot through their lifetimes so it is important to have George around to refresh carpets and upholstery. Emergency Cleaning The George generally works on hot water alone, but shampoo can be added. We would suggest that if you do this you keep it to a particularly gentle shampoo for your soft furnishings, just to be on the safe side. Like some of the other named vacuums, we have recently seen the introduction of their Henry counterpart. The 'Henry Wash' shares all of the mentioned features, so maybe George will slowly be phased out.Charles is the same size as Edward for dry use and uses the same filter and bags. When using as a wet vacuum simply change the filter and remove the bag. We gave the George a 10 out of 10 for furniture cleaning. Be sensible, don’t use it anywhere near any paint or varnish.
