Light sweaters or cardigans
Very thin button-down shirts worn over a tank top will also keep you cool, but do bear in mind that some insects can bite through thin fabric so many not protect you as much as you need. After all, if you sustain a minor injury or aren’t feeling well in the jungle, it’ll be a long way to a pharmacy! Also known as trekking trousers, this type of active clothing can be split into sub-categories depending on the fabric they’re made from, the fit and the features. Think about your car windscreen on a cold day… fogging up due to the temperature difference between the inside and the outside here force ventilation is needed to clear the moisture. The Nosilife technology keeps insects away too.When you travel, it is always good practice to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. The jungle can be a dangerous place at the best of times which makes travel insurance even more important. Even if you travel to more equatorial places where the humidity and heat can be unbearable, taking thin hoodies or sweaters that you can layer up is a really good idea. Wearing a light sweater or cardigan over a tank top in the evenings after a cold shower will keep your arms and shoulders protected from biting insects too. Even with long sleeves and trousers, it’s best to wear insect repellent on exposed skin. Those critters will always find somewhere to bite if you don’t! For the same reason that long-sleeved tops are must-have clothes to wear in the rainforest, long trousers or pants will protect your legs from insect bites as well as creepy crawlies on the ground. Cropped trousers or shorts are pretty pointless, as it really is best to protect your whole leg.
