About this deal

The ratio between the horizontal and the vertical side of the display. Some of the standard and widely used aspect ratios are 4:3, 5:4, 16:9 and 16:10.

Moving on, theLG 27UK650 display supports AMD FreeSync, which provides a variable refresh rate (VRR) for compatible graphics cards. LG has released a new addition to their monitor lineup. The 27UK650-W is an interesting monitor, marrying a 27", 16:9 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS panel with HDR 10 support. The static contrast ratio of 1000:1 means the monitor has a dynamic contrast of 5,000,000:1 (not that that particular spec matters much). The maximum brightness, however, leaves much to be desired on a HDR-enabled monitor: the LG 27UK650-W only manage to deliver 350 cd/m² brightness, which is lower than even the lowest HDR standard AMD considers as being HDR capable (a minimum brightness of 400 cd/m² is required for that). The sRGB 99% Color Gamut coverage is good, however, if not that rare a feature nowadays. Nov 7th 2023 LG Adds Pair of 45-inch DQHD Displays with 200 Hz Refresh Rate to its Ultragear Lineup (18) The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively.

Response time and motion performance are identical to the UK600 from what I have seen. I would refer to the rtings review of the UK650 for specific values. What we NEED right now is significantly better color and contrast. There's nearly no performance hit, and excellent color reproduction can look just as good as going from 120 to 240 Hz. I really gotta say that I am fed up with how long it is taking for decent HDR monitors and Quantum-Dot/OLED to enter the market. I don't need a 240Hz monitor lol. The dynamic contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce over time, for example, in the course of playing a video.

Information about the average amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another. The energy efficiency class/label provides general idea about the power consumption. There are different energy efficiency classes and each sets its own requirements regarding the power consumption. Some of the existent energy efficiency classes are A+++, A++, A+, A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Performance between these two models is extremely similar. Unfortunately the UL650 unit I received has a poor contrast ratio of 850:1. This is the lowest I've seen among the IPS panels I've tested. In comparison, the UK600 model I owned had a native contrast ratio of 1100:1, which I would consider fairly typical, if not slightly above average for an IPS display.

Oct 23rd 2023 Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X SoC for Laptop Leaks: 12 Cores, LPDDR5X Memory, and WiFi7 (32) Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. For a good HDR viewing experience, we recommend a monitor that has at least VESA’s HDR600 certification though these displays are, naturally, also more expensive.

The UL650 covered 99.1% of sRGB, similar to the 99.4% value for my UK600. It does seem that LG improved the dci-P3 coverage slightly. My UK600 had only 79% of dci-P3, where my UL650 has 84% of dci-P3. This is noticeable in HDR content, where colors do seem a bit more natural and less garish. Its still not great coverage, and I wouldn't consider this display to be a wide color gamut display, but its an improvement.

This technology removes all screen tearing and stuttering with minimal input lag penalty (~1ms) within the VRR range. The monitor has two VRR modes: Basic (48-60Hz range) and Extended (40-60Hz) range. These specs, along with 4K UHDresolution, ensure a stunning image quality, and while the contrast ratio isn’t as high as that of the VA panel alternatives, you do get more accurate and consistent colors. The UL series sees an upgrade to DisplayPort 1.4, vs the UK series which had 1.2. Other than that, the connectivity options are the same.
