About this deal

Reading Meg’s Eggs has led to discussions about eggs hatching and discovering which animals and birds come out of eggs. It also stimulated a discussion about dinosaurs, what they eat, what their teeth look like and the difference between herbivores and carnivores.

She is still very shy and generally keeps herself to herself. She is slightly older than the adolescent girls and came from one of those places where they keep you in a cage all day, I am so pleased I have always been in The Garden. At the beginning of the year, the area we live with The Humans, was hit by a disease called "Bird Flu". The Humans built a big shelter and run but the longer it went on the more bored we got. They tried to keep us occupied with different things, swings, straw bails, CDs and of course our favourite, cabbage pinata (for those non-EU types, cabbage on a string). Meg’s Eggs storyboards– Choose between 4 different versions of this story board. Excellent practise for sequencing skills, literacy skills and consolidating key language from the story. The suggestions help inspire interactive ways to retell the story. Numbers Jigsaws – Choose one of the three options in either a game or craft activity to make an attractive Meg and Mog jigsaw while practising numbers, sequencing and key language from the story at the same time.Color by number / shape– Use these worksheets to practise number recognition, shapes, numerals and/or literacy skills. Four versions are included to allow you to differentiate between abilities easily. Make a Meg shapes craft– Children make their very own Meg picture using the shapes. Follow the activity suggestions for ideas on setting up the activity and maximising practise of either receptive or productive skills. Helen Nicoll was born in Natland, Westmorland, in 1937. She was educated at schools in Bristol; Dartington Hall, Devon; and Froebel Education Institute, London. Helen Nicoll married Robert Kime in 1970 and they have one daughter and one son. Now she is flourishing. Beautiful feathers, emaculate claws, curtesy of the parlour, and such a witty personality. Her beak is still mishapen but she can still eat and The Humans make sure she gets her share.

The Story: Meg casts a spell to make eggs for supper. The spell doesn’t go as planned, the eggs are too big and hard to eat. In the middle of the night three dinosaurs hatch. Meg’s spell to save them from being eaten by the Tyrannosaurus causes all three dinosaurs to shrink. The Humans have kept us entertained by spreading wooodchip around and bringing us fresh logs full of grubs. It's ok", squaked Charlie, "look it's got caught in the other tree", and yes it was. The other tree is shaped like a fork and it was caught, we were going to be okay. There was some flying debris with a large branch piercing through our roof and the blue thing, which stops the rain coming, was flapping in the wind like a huge kite.... We thought the whole run might take off! Meg Goes to Bed is the latest of the iconic MEG and MOG picture books that continue to delight children up to the age of 3 with the brightly coloured and spellbinding antics of Meg the witch, Mog her cat and Owl. We are loving the warm weather and getting some heat on our wings, we have also managed to create a dust bath underneath one of the coops.Coloring sheets– Choose between 6 different worksheets and follow the activity suggestions to make this activity as interactive and language rich as you like. The bestselling MEG and MOG stories have been casting a unique spell for more than thirty-five years. They are perfect for sharing or reading alone and children love exploring the colours, sounds and shapes.

The chaos of Doris is finally over, the fallen tree is down and some lovely grubs fell into our coop. Meg’s Eggs has a very simple, easy to read text which is great for beginner readers. I like the way that speech bubbles move the story along and enhance the simple sentences. The rhyming spells add to the humour and I love the use of onomatopoeia. The illustrations on the double spreads are colourful, bold and humorous and will appeal to toddlers who will enjoy the board book version. My daughter likes copying the simple pictures, she especially likes drawing Owl. I hope you have had a great summer. We have here in The Garden. We had lots of visitors from the human world and enjoyed some sunbathing and dust baths.

Christmas Gifts

Firstly I must apologise to our avid readers for being away for so long. It is a long story and I will tell you the main bits. We also like the very first Meg and Mog story. We are introduced to Meg, Mog and Owl as well as Meg’s friends. Unfortunately Meg’s spell goes wrong and she manages to turn her friends into mice! Activities are specifically designed to allow for differentiation of ability and context and come complete with COMPREHENSIVE ACTIVITY SUGGESTIONS.
