About this deal

I thought book 2 was gonna always be my hands-down favorite (Sloane really beats most h’s out there), but dang, book 3 killed my expectations. Plus, seeing previous characters make appearances and have their own chapters added lots of brownie points to this book💁🏻‍♀️. But I digress… This was enemies to lovers GOLD. Declan kidnaps Sloane and keeps her captive, only it doesn't go as he planned considering the woman is opinionated, with a razor sharp tongue, and completely fearless. She challenges him at every turn and turns him on at every corner. Their banter was the thing mu bookish dreams were made of. the banter (although it was also too much and I felt exhausted by every line having to be wittier than the last)

I suspect there’s more he wants to say. The pause felt significant. I wait, my heartbeat going even faster. The steam, people! THE STEAM. I died for it. I loved Sloane slowly work her quirky charm on Declan almost as much as I loved his dominant side completely own her in bed.Another observation is that I probably would have liked this book even more if it didn’t give me deja vu when it comes to the banter and general dialogue. All 3 heroines sounded pretty much the same with Sloan being a bit extra. The men were kinda the same too (especially Kage and Malek). I don’t know but after reading all 3 books one after the other the characters are almost replaceable. Meaning you could take Riley and put it in the first book instead of Nat, and you’d change nothing but the physical appearance. Sloane is awesome. She is self-assured and snarky. She is funny, crazy and completely badass. The narration was great. Like Ruthless Creatures, this one is narrated like a play or an old time radio show. I wish all books were done like this. Michelle Sparks did the voice of Sloane and she was perfect for the sarcastic and snarky woman. Troy Duran did the voice of Declan and he does an Irish accent as well as he does a Russian one. Brooke Daniels did the voice of Natalie and was wonderful as well. Savage Hearts is the third installment in the Queens & Monsters series and my goodness I am so in love with this book and really I love ALL three of these but I think despite how much I adored book 2 (Carnal Urges), I think this book tops that one or at the very least they are tied. Because this one worked into all my feels, it won my attention and I never wanted to let go of this story. I have loved seeing the journey of this author and LITERALLY, these are her BEST books that she has ever written in my mind. I deeply love seeing how far she has come and seen her growth and dark romance is her jam. I know that this genre isn’t for everyone, but I guarantee that she will have you fallen deeply in love with the genre more than just about any other author. There was so much goodness in this book that I can’t contain how thrilled I am to have read this beautiful book here. So much I am going to buy all of them on trade. Savage Hearts is a thrilling installment that is guaranteed to take your breath away that features After a while, he speaks again. This time his tone has changed. It’s grown dark. “Don’t try to run away.”

I’m probably going to die with only you for company. Can you blame me for being upset?” His eyes are narrowed, doubtful, arctic blue.So all in all, if it didn’t include BDSM, it would be more than 5 stars for me but I have to lower my grading because of all the unappealing sex scenes for me and I don’t want to do the book injustice so I am only deducting -1.5, whereas in fact I would deduct -2 or -3 points in an ordinary book. Establish a good relationship with your kidnapper. Form a kinship, a special bond.... by basically talking shit to each other all day.

It has deep emotions. It has fun banter. The plot line is good. There were moments I got really excited. As a matter of fact, I was never bored. In a mafia book, this is very unusual for me. the hero - As you can tell I’m also not very enamoured with Declan. I didn’t particularly like him or think him fierce or hot or anything. The more Sloan kept teasing him about being old the more I started to believe it. Personality wise I mean, he didn’t really have a charismatic, draw you in flair (this is all very subjective, I know others find him irresistible) . And his murderous tendencies were all talk. I can’t picture the man as attractive, I just can’t. I talked so much s**t about the first book, but at least I was into Kage. Book 3 has the heroine I loved most: Riley. She is just perfect. Lovely, witty, cute, smart and strong. I'm weird like that, but I'm counting how long it takes until the main characters meet and interact for the first time. That's why I know it took 15% til Riley and Malek interact. It doesn't sound that long, but it felt like forever. Idk if that's the reason why their romance was just 'okay', but I still liked some of their earlier banter. The Hero: Declan - he is second to the head of the Irish Mafia and tasked with kidnapping Sloane. He can’t figure her out. She is chatty and unafraid, not to mention the fact that she can defend herself and handle a gun though she has no history of violence or even taking a self defense class.

Success!

Second by second, this kiss is killing me. Whenever he decides to end it, I’ll slide to the floor and expire at his feet. Maybe that’s been his plan all along. This is how he’ll murder me. Death by estrogen overload. That's more of a personal preference, but I wasn't a huge fan of the smut. The BDSM wasn't hardcore, but ehh still wasn't great. I can take it if the H is called "Sir" in bed, but I hate the word "Master".. so I was like nope peace out. 🏃🏻‍♀️ Because he knew if he failed you, you'd have to take the class again. He couldn't bear to live through that twice." Spoiler: I have never given J.T. less than a five star rating. But in this case, I needed to drop it down by a half a point. Same as the first book, this one includes lots of spanking involved in the sex scenes but this one took things a bit further. All with complete consent of course. It is my own problem that I struggle with this. With the first book, I was able to get past it but this one was more of a struggle. So, for me, it took away from the romance and my overall enjoyment of the book. I don’t mind the dark themes, I just don’t enjoy the dominant/submissive aspect and felt like the book would be more romantic without it.
