About this deal

En résumé: Un magnifique casque de type fermé, très bien conçu, pour la gamme de prix d'environ 400€. L'équivalent dans cette même tranche de prix en ouvert, serait plutôt le Sennheiser HD660S. Tout dépend de vos goûts.

Dynamically, they are really telling, and the subtlety they unmask is truly class leading. The Shures really do lay music bare, regardless of genre. After the energy of Daft Punk, we quieten down with The Sundays’ Wild Horses and the 1540s hang onto every quiver of Harriett Wheeler’s soaring vocals. The Sound. It is very even through out the range with nothing drawing too much attention to certain frequencies. Vocals are great treble is sweet yet detailed. Bass is solid and deep without being overbearing. Fact is they have a lower reach then my PMC floor stander’s which go very low.vsKEF M500: Not a match here. M500 are great portables. Nonetheless, nothing is really comparable here. SRH1540 is better in almost all aspects, besides neutrality. M500 are more flat, but sounds muffled and harsh when compared to SRH1540.

vsSRH940: Think of SRH1540 as a SRH940 with more bass, richer mids, and more tamed treble. SRH1540 are marginally better in almost all ways, besides clarity. I believe it's worth the price difference. Upper frequencies are very nice. When looking at the frequency graph, I was worried these would have treble roll off, especially when comparing them to my Beyerdynamic DT990s, which have some serious treble sizzle. To my ears, there is less treble than the DT990s, but I wouldn't call it roll off. It's just very smooth and pleasing. It is very clear, which renders a good sense of space. It's never harsh or intrusive. Cymbals are present, but they never show any tizziness. There's no "hotness" in the upper frequencies for me. I really like how Shure rendered the treble. Very non-fatiguing while maintaining clarity and presence. Please note that I've only owned these for 4 days, and had about 15-20hrs of use. My impressions may and probably will change, and my review will be updated constantly. The Shure 1540 is well equipped, though I wonder if its price takes all these accessories into account. Personally, I could live with just the headphone, one cable, and the spare pads if it would cause the price to go down a bit.

Overall, the SRH1540 is a light, comfortable and stylish headphone that fits well and seals out noise fairly well. Aside from that issue, the 1540 can be worn seemingly all day without becoming hot, or head shift inducing. The problem with most full-sized headphones we test is that their large size and weight usually make them a little cumbersome, and eventually uncomfortable to wear. Sennheiser’s HD800wereimpossible to forget you had on. With the Audeze LCD3, we just felt it would be best for us to sit still. Even the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 had enough clamping force at play that we’d ultimately need a rest.

Shure SRH1540

At this moment, I'm looking to get a he6 or hd800. I don't think I can find anything cheaper than those that'll outresolve srh1540. I'm also getting a hd700 and beyer t1 right now before he6/hd800 with the hope I can find something cheaper that'll outresolve srh1540. Let me hope that they outresolve my boi and save me some money for the time being. I want to upgrade straight to raal sr1a when I have the money The Shure SRH1540 headphones sport cushy Alcantara circumaural earpads that comfortably envelope your ears and a fully adjustable, premium padded headband. so you can monitor marathon sessions without discomfort. Sporting an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy yoke, the SRH1540s are so lightweight you might even forget you have them on! Shure professional quality for years of use Despite their size, Shure’s SRH1540 are the most comfortable headphones we can recall wearing.Their lightweight frame, gentle but firm clamping force, and soft ear pads made putting them on like strapping a couple of pillows to our head. And never – not even once – did we ever have any trouble with heat build-up or ear sweats. Sure they’re big, but they are so comfortable we could wear them all day – in fact, we did. Noise isolation
