About this deal

The death of 35-year-old Diane Jones in 1983 also remains shrouded in mystery almost four decades on. The homicide investigation continues after officers responded to gunshots at the Travelodge Hotel on the corner of Paris Street and Walford Road in Sudbury around 2 a.m. Dec. 20.

Diane was last seen at around 11pm on July 23 at the front gate of her and her husband’s home in Coggeshall, Essex, after having been dropped off while her husband Dr Robert Jones parked the car. The couple had been returning home after a night at their local pub. The mystery here is a little more complex than some of the previous (I like that), though it still isn't too difficult to follow. The accused is obviously innocent, but there are so many underlying and intricate mysteries here it seems almost anyone could be a suspect for one reason or another. The layers to the story added several nice elements to complicate Lacey's life and make the mystery that much more intriguing in trying to unwind the web.

The mystery and murders are... almost secondary at times. The events and details unravel at an alarmingly slow rate, it seems. And while it's not tough to finger the murderer, the events are wrapped up in the pranks at the school - are they perpetrated by one and the same to cover up the other things happening behind closed doors? The 1993 murder of young mum Karen Hales, who was stabbed to death at her Ipswich home, has also gone unsolved. Karen Hales died while at home with her 18-month-old daughter. Picture: Suffolk Police (40022104) The 32 year old, who lived in Brixton, London, with her ex-husband and two teenage sons, had been strangled and had no personal possessions with her when her body was discovered.

Nash showed no visible reaction as his sentence was read out and he used his walking frame to head down to the cells, as family members of the victims wept in the public gallery. Karen’s partner had left for work earlier in the day, leaving Karen and her daughter alone in the house. Several people were arrested in connection with the burglary, but nobody has ever been brought to justice. Doris Shelley died after suffering blows to the head. Picture: Suffolk Police Det Supt Mike Brown said: “We remain fully committed to solving this complex case and obtaining justice for the victim and any family he may have had. On Tuesday, August 28, 1984, Edna was found by neighbours at home in Finchley Road, Ipswich, after they noticed smoke coming from her front door.

I found this book, The Sudbury School Murders, to be a nice change of venue wherein Captain Lacey, via his friend Lucius Grenville, has found work in the country at a school for sons of the richest, albeit merchant-class, men in London. It would seem a good choice for the destitute yet proud Lacey to get out is his grimy rooms in and even grimier London to find a way to make some money to supplement his half-pay from the military and find a modicum of peace in the fresh air of the countryside. I'm pleased that the "main" characters continue to grow and evolve as real people do. The friendship between Lacey and Grenville deepens, but also hits a bit of turbulence over Marianne. Lacey keeps Marianne's secret, which irks Grenville, but it means that Lacey's sense of honor is in tact -- and honor and "right" are among Lacey's most valuable and most dangerous character traits. To reveal Marianne's secret to Grenville would mean that Lacey isn't true to his own code. Last year, Suffolk Police said they were making 'significant progress' in their investigation, after it was reopened in 2019 following fresh information. Born in Sudbury in Suffolk in 1316, Simon Theobald went on to study at the University of Paris and became a chaplain to the pope. In 1356 Simon of Sudbury, as he became known, was sent on a mission to King Edward III of England.

A double murder investigation has been launched after the bodies of two females were found inside a house in Great Waldingfield, Sudbury. Police were called just after 9.55am today (September 8) to reports of concern for safety at a house on Heath Estate. Police are now releasing an image of a man and a woman they would like to trace in connection with the investigation. In the 1990s, Pamela’s family hired a private investigator who claimed to have located her in Thunder Bay. However, when her sister went to the house, the woman who lived there said she had never heard of Pamela Harvey. From the oldest case to the most recent, the death of Eye resident Richard Clarke remains a mystery to this day. During the investigation, police were told the name of Ali Qazimaj, who was said to have been a carer for the Stuarts’ son-in-law’s father.

Her body, partially decomposed, was found in a ditch adjacent to the B1518 in Wangford, on February 18, 1989, 16 days after she was last seen. Suffolk Police joined forces with the Metropolitan Police to investigate, with national attention fixated on Suffolk. All but one of those who entered Dora’s shop on January 8 were traced and eliminated as suspects, with a man wearing steel rimmed glasses having never come forward to police. He remained under investigation until recently but Suffolk Police said he will face no further action at this time. It was also reported last year that Suffolk Strangler Steve Wright was arrested as part of the investigation, although Suffolk Police did not comment on the matter.Wat Tyler’s followers denounced the Archbishop as “a traitor who will be beheaded for his iniquity”. After causing damage and destruction at the Archbishop’s palace, the insurgents moved on to the Archbishop’s Lambeth Palace.
