Waterproofing is achieved using a membrane. We couldn’t find out which material is used, but we can confirm it’s effective and breathes reasonably well. If you are very keen to wear jeans in all weather conditions then taking the time to waterproof them could potentially save your life! The reflective detail on these is worth pointing out because it’s nicely done (everything on our list has some level of reflective stuff). But it’s not just the waterproof qualities that make DUER’s All-Weather Denim Jeans stand out. They’re also a flawless all-round cycling jean. They’re super stretchy, they’re extremely durable (especially on the crotch, that is equipped with a gusset to prevent cycling wear and tear. They’re also breathable, feature plenty of reflective features (such as on the ankle cuffs when you turn then up) and they are even odour resistant, so they won’t get stinky in a hurry. Waterproof jeans can be made from denim, textile material or even leather. While leather is rarely full waterproof, it can be paired with textile material and membranes to achieve decent water repellence. The cuffs can be adjusted too. This facilitates using lots of different styles of boots without any problems.
Wash and Reproof
We like Halley Stevensons because… They are the World’s leading manufacturers and innovators in waxed cotton and weatherproofed fabrics. All their dyeing and finishing is "under one roof" based at their Baltic Works in Dundee, UK. It’s an odd sensation, and one that I don’t want to have when I’m at work, or home, or the bar after commuting in these pants.
