About this deal

At the heart of any squig-heavy Beast Snaggas army, you’re sure to find a solid core of Squighog Boyz. There are many good reasons to take them in your army, but before we examine the rules, let’s appreciate how great they look charging into some Ultramarines.

First up this week we have the meanest, greenest Orks codex in history, which sees the greenskins roar into the latest edition of Warhammer 40,000 in fearsome fettle. This huge volume contains 61 new and revamped datasheets, and includes new rules for Crusade campaigns, Relics, Stratagems, Psychic Disciplines, and seven clans, including the piratical Freebooterz. With upgrades including new Dakka weapons and that all-important boost to Toughness 5 across the board, Orks are a terrifying prospect on the tabletop – as they should be.Pardon? Castellan Crowe? We’ve never heard of this man in our lives, and we have it on good authority that there’s no such thing as a ‘Grey Knight’. Sit still, and we’ll send along one of our helpful Inquisitors to show you exactly where you were mistaken. They are also known to cultivate Hair Squigs so they can decorate themselves with extravagant crests and topknots. Other common features are wolfskin headgear and wolf pelts, which add to their wild and primitive appearance. By using such un-Orky practices as ‘positive reinforcement’, Zodgrod lifts the runts under his care to heights other Gretchin can only dream of, much to the collective derision of his peers. As a result of their rugged lifestyle, the Snakebites are usually weather-beaten and as tough as an old boot. They are experts in the field of breeding Orkoid creatures and their Grots and Squigs are the fiercest among all the Greenskin tribes. Zodgrod Wortsnagga has always had some funny ideas,* but by far his most outlandish is that the humble, downtrodden grot could be trained and enhanced into a productive member of Ork society. It’s definitely a strange theory, one for which he is mercilessly derided by his fellow greenskins, but perhaps strangest of all is that he’s right.

Surprisingly, they have proved to be a potent force multiplier on the battlefield for whatever Greenskin force is willing to employ them without first laughing uproariously at the idea. Through a combination of shiny objects, enticing fungal treats, and a few vials of the Painboys’ ‘special brew’, Zodgrod succeeded in creating a new breed of ‘super runt’, possessed of greater strength, intelligence, and frankly alarming levels of problem-solving ability. WAAAGH! Hruk (855.M41) - The noted Snakebites Warboss Hruk Teefsplinta enslaved the entire population of his old stomping grounds, the binary system of Corva. Forcing his captives to build him spacecraft with holds cavernous enough to accommodate his beloved mega-menagerie, Hruk set off for the core worlds of the Imperium. He conquered the nine Shrine Worlds of Marlisanct and used the system's Basilica Imperator Majoris as a breeding pen to house his Squiggoths. Ironically, the more sophisticated weapons that fall into the hands of the Snakebites usually find their way into the hands of their Grots, as the runts of the klan are left to figure out how they work.Of all the Ork klanz, the Snakebites remain closest to the wild, uncivilised state of their Feral Ork ancestors. Although they use and understand technology as well as any other Orks, their natural inclination leads them to shun much that is technologically sophisticated in favour of familiar ways.

Once you have selected an eligible unit to declare a charge, you must select one or more enemy units within 12" of it as the targets of that charge. The targets of a charge do not need to be visible to the charging unit. The Snakebites are also known to be a wandering klan that rarely settles in one place for long. They only stay on a planet long enough to get into a fight and then they're off again. If your army is Battle-forged, it can take advantage of this updated Snakebites Clan Kultur. Da Old Ways will dial that already ’ard-as-nails Beast Snagga survivability up to 11, while also lending further credibility to that most ancient Orkish adage, ‘squigs iz good for bitin’ fings’. Though, as we’ve already learned, squigs can also do so much more . Zodgrod Wortsnagga Hruk Teefsplita - In 855.M41 Hruk Teefsplinta enslaved the entire population of his old stomping grounds, the binary system of Corva. Hruk forced his slaves to build huge spacecraft with holds cavernous enough to accommodate his beloved mega-menagerie. Once built, Hruk set off to conquer the core worlds of the Imperium of Man. He went on to conquer the nine Shrine Worlds of Marlisanct, using its Basilica Imperator Majoris as a breeding pen for his famously incontinent Squiggoths. Zodgrod Wortsnagga - Zodstrog Wortsnagga is an infamous Ork Runtherd who was perhaps the greatest Runtherd in Ork history before being expelled from the Warboss Ugulhard Duffgruntas' Chargerz, an extremely fundamentalist band of Snakebites who rabidly rejected the use of advanced technology. After the expulsion, Zodgrod travelled the galaxy and learned several ancient Orkoid techniques to create enhanced Gretchin who were possessed of more aggression, intelligence and sheer ferocity than any of their counterparts, which he named "Supa-Runtz." Zodgrod is now hired by Ork Warbosses and Warlords who are particularly desperate to make use of his Supa-Runtz in battle.Among their many curious traditions, the one that stands out the most to other Orks and gives the klan their name is the tradition of using live, venomous creatures in their coming of age ritual. The Snakebites' klan sigil is a venomous serpent, typically green on a yellow banner, and they like to festoon themselves in venomous serpents, hides, and furs as they trundle exuberantly into battle.
