About this deal

Bluefin has released the new version of the Bluefin Cruise, with an updated design and some more upgrades compared to the 2021 version. Just when I thought it could not get any better they still manage to surprise me! Just see how many more colors and sizes have been added to the Bluefin Cruise range now! The newly used MSL-Fusion construction combines a light weight with top stiffness and is on the cutting edge! The high weight was always one of the very few criticisms of the predecessors. We have tested the two versions of these boards extensively, and you will see a lot of personal pictures of us on these two boards. The latest Cruise Carbon 2023 versionis the DARKER SUP while the old Cruise version is in BLUE. In this review below, I will show you how we experienced these paddle boards.

The Bluefin Cruise paddle has a fiberglass shaft and polyurethane blade. It is 45% lighter than your average aluminum paddle. As a result, one of the few points of criticism, namely the high weight of the predecessors, is now a thing of the past. The boards of the carbon series glide significantly easier through the water, their mega stable design improves the hydrodynamic properties significantly. Especially in rough water and waves, you notice the gain in stiffness immediately. The board hardly deforms and therefore delivers better performance in all situations. It comes with a hose that attaches to the already stand-up paddle board and a gauge that lets you know when you’ve reached the optimal pressure. Leash

Which boards do you think could compete with this board at this price range? I’m wondering if you guys are as positive about this board as I am and if not, what could be improved?

Here there is really very good news. As can be observed with many manufacturers, the trend for the Bluefin Cruise is moving towards a construction that is referred to as “MSL-Fusion” in technical jargon. The Bluefin offers a kayak conversion kit and it costs less than the Atoll. It also has a five-year warranty while the Atoll has a two-year warranty. I’m not a huge fan of how the Bluefin looks, in terms of the graphic design it’s not the best looking board on the market. I think Bluefin is absolutely doing the right thing on getting the construction perfect first, so hopefully on the next Cruise version, they can work on improving the aesthetics. With dimensions of 325 cm (10.8′) in length and 83.5 (33″) cm in width, the Bluefin Cruise 10’8 corresponds to the typical all-rounder. The Bluefin Cruise 12, on the other hand, is a touring board that measures 366 cm x 83 cm (12′ x 32″).In shallow water (e.g. on river tours) it is also possible to use the two side fins alone. This minimizes the draft. In practice, however, this setting is usually not very useful, as it makes the board difficult to steer.
