About this deal

This is the case for Henry and Hetty – short for Henrietta – who is Henry's female counterpart. The features and specifications of the two vacuum cleaners are exactly the same, the only differences are that Hetty is slightly smaller (although it weighs the same) and comes in pink or yellow, with long eyelashes. Despite a significant reduction in suction power, improvements in efficiency means he remains a powerful and reliable vacuum cleaner, suitable for cleaning all types of services. Henry has also been built to be long-lasting, meaning he should last in your home for years to come. With a number of useful accessories included in the box, no cleaning job should be too hard. Like nearly all Henry vacuums the traditional Henry Hoover is corded and requires bags, so that’s something to bear in mind as he’ll need to be plugged in and have his bag changed from time to time. I can only recommend bagless cylinder vacuums for allergy sufferers that don’t have severe allergies. It excels at cleaning pet hair and deep, stubborn pet messes. Also, though, is an excellent filtration system that traps 99.99% of particles .3 microns or over. The HEPA filter does its job with the body specially sealed to make sure that no dust-filled air can evade the filter. Henry is now suitable for dust related allergies. No mess, No dust, No allergens. Still the Henry we all know and love from Numatic but with the added seal of approval from the British Allergy Foundation. Henry Allergy-Friendly Cleaning

The air that comes through the Hoover comes out purified and fresh into your home with allergens removed. plus it’s got a pet brush attachment you can use to give your sofas and curtains a more thorough vacuuming. The HEPA filter can trap particles and also, the body is sealed well. Earning it an A rating for dust re-emissions. Of course, as is the case with so many of these bagless vacuums, the canister will cause a small dust cloud when you empty it. The standard Henry and Hetty vacuums are great machines that will get almost any vacuum job done with little fuss, but there’s now lots of other options, some of which may be more appealing depending on what you need. When it comes to battery life, the Henry HVB is equipped with two batteries that have 30 minutes of charge respectively. Sarah found that those 60 minutes of cleaning time were more than enough for dealing with all of the messes her home threw at her. As a frame of reference, a spore is 3-40 microns. Bacteria is .3 to 60 microns, mould is 3-12 microns and a dust mite is 10 microns.Usually, the bagless varieties of vacuum end up leaving a plume of dust when emptying. The dustbin features a spout system that reduces the amount of dust that puffs up when emptying. There is one caveat, however. This is a bagless model and there will be dust spilling into the air when you empty the cylinder. If you have severe allergies you may want to keep this in mind. On the other hand, if you just have hard floors, then the streamlined hard floor-specific head is the one to grab. In fact, this head is one of the very best hard floor heads I’ve ever used. It’s really flat, like a sleek sports car, but it performs superbly well and feels fabulously smooth to push around. A high-five to Numatic’s R&D department for this radical piece of engineering.

Bagged vacuums, therefore, maybe a better option if you have bad allergies. Many bagged vacuums have an automatic seal system that closes as soon as you detach it. Simply drop the bag in the bin and avoid any dust altogether. The Philips Expert does it all if you are a pet owner. It is so powerful that it claims to remove up to 40% more dust than its peers. This is welcome news if you are one of those pet owners that have allergies to pet hair or dander. After taking it for a test vacuum at home, our reviewer Helen can only agree that Henry is a dependable workhorse, with a low-maintenance design. It doesn't have the sophisticated features that brand-new cordless vacuums do, but it also doesn't need to be charged or regularly emptied, with its six litre capacity. It’s got all the accessories you need for a deep clean of your house and a 1.8 m long cord for charging. But with 40 minutes run time you don’t ever need to use it corded. The frugal member of the family, James Hoover is a slightly smaller vacuum cleaner and comes with a couple of other alterations. Out of those examples, then a HEPA filter will trap all of them including bacteria. That keeps your air very pure. Any particle smaller than .3 microns may pass through the filter, but in general, even those smaller ones are effectively trapped. This is easily the best vacuum cleaner if you’re worried about allergies or you’re looking to ease asthma, the 40 minutes run time is plenty to get around your whole house and it’s light enough for easy daily cleaning. The EcoBrush came in handy during testing for giving upholstery and stairs a once over, according to our vacuum expert Jen. Another standout feature is the impressive suction that works well on carpet and hard floors, part in thanks to the universal floorhead.

The Henry Allergy vacuum cleaner is compact and powerful. It comes with all of the standard tools that you would expect...Plus HEPA filtration to eliminate airbound dust particles. If you're looking for a bagged cylinder vac to take care of pet hair on a budget, then the Henry Pet won't disappoint. After using this vacuum for a number of weeks, Jen was sure that this could easily become her family vac, and loved the simplicity of cleanly disposing of the dust bag rather than being met by a cloud of debris when it came to emptying the tank. A good bagged, canister vacuum can be hard to find, especially if you don't want to spend a fortune, and the 10-metre cleaning range and attachments definitely go far enough here to make this vac worth your while.Love a Henry but want to go for one of the best cordless vacuums? The Henry HVB160 cordless vacuum cleaner is well worth a look. Our reviewer Sarah gave it 4.5 stars and thinks it's great for smaller homes as its battery life only lasts for 30 minutes. Hardwood floorhead – a handy feature for homeowners with a wooden floor (comes with Henry XL Plus, Henry Allergy HVA 160-11 and Henry Xtra HVX200)

This Henry vac has a HEPA filter to trap common allergens, such as pollen, pet dander, and dust mites. The three-stage filtration system stops them from escaping from the machine, and it’s approved by the British Allergy Foundation. The HepaFlo bags also have a self-seal tab, keeping dust in when the machine’s emptied. The cleaner comes with a combination floor head — put brushes down for hard floors, and lift them for carpet — and includes a special hard floor tool as well. Make sure you replace bags when they’re full or if you vacuumed up something that smells less than pleasant. I’ll be honest, if you’re worried about pet allergies and need a great vacuum, the Shark or the Dyson above will be a better choice. But if you don’t have the money for those that’s fine because this hoover is a great alternative that’s more budget-friendly. When it came to the hard floor test I had a choice of two main floor brushes. The ‘universal’ brush head comprises a simple surround of stiff bristles that can be retracted for carpet use – this is the head you will use the most if your home has a mixture of hard floor and carpet since it’s easy to simply stamp on the large retractor switch as you change surfaces.I can’t deny it is very hygienic, all the dust is stored in a bag and in the case of this Hoover, it’s a self-sealing bag that ensures there are no dust clouds when emptying it. There are different types of HEPA filters. Which kind you need will be determined by what problem you need to be solved. The flagship Henry vacuum cleaner does not have a HEPA filter. Most Henrys come with a TriTex or MicroFresh filter. The only vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter from the Numatic’s Henry family is Henry Allergy, which is designed specifically with allergy sufferers in mind. Emptying is a breeze because you just open the container from the bottom once it’s in the bin and all the dust falls out the bottom, and because all the fine dust is collected in the filter it doesn’t cause a big cloud when you empty it. My frugal brain doesn’t particularly like bagged vacuums, having to buy a top-up so you can keep vacuuming is just a pain.
