About this deal

Not much is known about his young life, however, it was said that long ago when he was King of Madagascar, he ruled the kingdom with fear and intimidation, forcing everyone to do hard labor, and nearly caused the extinction of the lemur species (and possibly other animals as well). He shut down the schools and revamped the school system, teaching the kingdom things he wants them to be taught, especially in subjects like history, where he altered and revised it to his advantage. Clover, who is only featured in All Hail King Julien, is extremely loyal to her king, taking the king as a colleague and one of her best friend. This is most evident in All Hail King Julien: Exiled, as well as the following examples: Return of the Uncle King, Body Double, Election, O Captain My Captain Pt. 1, O Captain My Captain Pt. 2, and The Good Book etc. During Xixi's "Gorch Watch" where fruit must be thrown into its cave to appease it, Julien, Maurice, and Clover enter the cave and rescue Doc Sugarfoot, a charming old lemur who was trapped inside after his tail was pinned down while hiding from the Foosa years earlier. Julien then takes him on as part of his royal counsel. Soon, Doc Sugarfoot challenges Julien to a popularity-based election where the most popular lemur gets to be king. This proves to be bad when Doc Sugarfoot is revealed to be King Julien the Terrible, a lemur who ruled with an iron fist before a rebellion stopped his reign of terror. Mort Unbound -- Mort growing huge by an invention and being tired of being bullied and bossed around, but then letting Julien use him to get stuff from the other zoo animals. King Julien refusing to give Mort a single banana. When Mort was turned small, King Julien admitted it was his fault to prevent big Private from beating him up.

King Julien: (Julien takes Maurice's banana and eats it) Nicely done, Maurice. Now peel me a grape. Because he is extremely conceited, selfish and rather dim-witted, Julien is a terrible king. It seems that he will only let people talk good about him. Julien could even be narcissistic in that way. But it has been referenced twice in the series that deep down, he mainly wants his friends to stay by his side. In Kaboom and Kabust, Julien and Rico have a "Blowing Things Up" montage which parodies "Falling In Love" montages - however, Julien was only interested in Rico to cause mischief and explosions; upon learning it's dangerous to blow things up with Rico, he loses interest. When his peace treaty leads to unrest and a broken boom box, Julien wants to build a wall to keep non-lemurs out of the party kingdom.

King Julien clones himself but things take a turn for the worse when Mort wants his "very own King Julien", and accidentally unleashes Morticus Khan, an evil warlord, and his army of Mort clones. In Tangled in the Web, King Julien and Marlene did their performance together The Penguins of Madagascar [ ]

King Julien learns from Xixi that 99% of the lemurs love him, so he makes it his mission to find and convert the one "hater" lemur. In Night Creatures, he continuously tries to convince that Mort is the night creature, probably make Clover to destroy him. King Julien and Maurice stunned at the sight of the shark's death while Mort was doing his signature laugh.

Julien sees the Lemur School reunion as a way to relive his glory days, but his old flame Karen and his foe Karl have a dangerously different agenda. However in All Hail King Julien, there are only four such ring tailed lemurs and not seen as an abundant species like in the films: his uncle, Magic Steve, his mother and himself, where Magic Steve is his exact copy (clone) where his friends too are fooled by Steve. However, Steve was swallowed by the Crocodile Ambassador in Body Double. When Julien's new adviser brings social media to the jungle, it has a disastrous effect on his entourage and nearly costs him the kingdom.

King Julien: Well, I have been meaning to mention it to her. But it is clear to me now that I must step up my wooing. He likes to whistle. He is "pretty good" at it now, but he would like to become a professional whistler. Technically, his statement is ironical, he's a terrible whistler. It is seen in My Fair Foosa and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

King Julien been carried by Willie, probably Ted and Dorothy in Madagascar 1. " You can be anything you want if you dream hard enough!" ~King Julien [source] Though he doesn't show his care to Mort much, he does care about him on the inner side. In Empty is the Head, he was probably drunken and looses his control. He hugs Mort and says that they are brothers and loves him. It is clearly seen that he doesn't hate him but is compelled to do it since he acts as an "imp", weirdo and an annoying character by touching his feet. However, all done by Mort is solely from his heart to pay gratitude for saving his life.

While looking for Maurice, King Julien accidentally blows himself up and wakes up in Frankri-La, where must stand trial to prove he's been a good king to be awarded a second chance to live. Maurice wakes up in a cave whose strange inhabitants believe he's the chosen one. Mort battles Morticus Khan for control of the Mort army, learning of his true nature in the process. Julien arch-enemy Karl arrives at the gladiator school, offering to help Julien recover his throne.Mort (perhaps the most loyal after the scene in King Me) and Maurice are very loyal. Even though Maurice is a extremely loyal to King Julien in All Hail King Julien, who is to be one of his best friend, these are some examples where Maurice's character change:
