About this deal

Along the route there are informative signs (in several languages) explaining the history and geology of the crater. This walk is one of the best free things to do in Lanzarote for families – kids will love running around inside the crater! How amazing is the volcanic scenery at Caldera de Los Cuervos? Go on a buggy tour in Lanzarote Costa Teguise is also home to the oldest golf course on the island, so this is where you can head for eighteen holes in the sun all year round. Shopping

The island’s capital Arrecife is a bustling and busy town, with a Marina, a fabulous sandy beach and the famous Charco San Ginés, with dozens of places to eat and drink. There are several excellent hotels in the capital which are superb value for money. Many tourists choose to base themselves in Costa Teguise on the eastern coast of the island. The town is a proper holiday resort, with lots of bars, restaurants, cafes, accommodation of all types and a big sandy beach. The pretty square in Pueblo Marinero in Costa Teguise Costa Teguise is a man made resort, created in the 1970’s around the beautiful sandy beach of Las Cucharas. It’s much more compact than Puerto del Carmen, and is completely flat, so ideal if you have walking issues.

César Manrique House Museum — Palm Grove House in Haría

Like Carmen, it has loads of shops, bars and restaurants, so you’re never short of things to do. The accommodation tends to be larger in Costa Teguise, with bigger complexes and hotels, and more multi-room apartments. There are a number of all inclusive hotels in the resort, as well as adult only and sports hotels. There are several supermarkets in town, but the shopping choice isn’t as good as Puerto del Carmen’s. El Hierro’s most spectacular base is El Golfo, where the volcanic coastline sits at the foot of an amphitheatre-like, 1,000m-high natural wall. The two main towns here, Tigaday and La Frontera, blend together, with restaurants, a food-and-crafts market and a 19th-century church. The popular (and challenging) Camino de Jinama hike begins (or ends) in La Frontera.

The scenery here is breathtaking whilst the village itself is very atmopsheric. A weekly artisan market takes place here every Saturday, there's a small art gallery located in the old aljibe or water deposit in the main square and César Manrique is also buried in the local cemetry, having lived his final years in a house in Haria. Teguise - La Villa It offers a wide range of holiday styles from studio apartments overlooking the lively beach road to luxury private villas in the exclusive Los Mojones area perched on a clifftop overlooking the harbour and out to sea. Costa Teguise As big wine drinkers, we were really keen to book a trip with Wine Tours Lanzarote. This tour company came highly recommended, and they didn’t disappoint! Over the course of three hours, our tour guide Anita took a small group of us to three local wineries. La Geria wine region in Lanzarote is a unique place to visitRead in depth guides to Costa Teguise, Matagorda, Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero.

Spain is well known for its amazing wines and this tailor-made trip to The Lands of Wine allows you to explore two famous regions: Ribera del Duero and La Rioja. Four different wineries, from traditional to modern, and many restaurants on the way await your visit. Last (but not least) in our guide to the best Canary Islands comes rustic El Hierro - the smallest andmost south-westerly island in the archipelago is also the hardest to get to, and the least set-up for tourists. Situated on the south eastern coast to the north of Arrecife, Costa Teguise is Lanzarote’sthird largesttourist resort.Lanzarote Tourist Attractions A list of the most popular places and attractions to visit during your stay in Lanzarote Lanzarote’s increasingly lauded wine region, known for its volcanic malvasia grape, is best savoured with local experts Wine Tours Lanzarote, who visit independent wineries as well as La Geria’s big-name bodegas. For the lunar-like Parque Nacional de Timanfaya, sidestep the crowds by hiking the coastal Ruta del Litoral path, or hop over into the Parque Natural de los Volcanes. Ten minutes down the coast, Puerto Calero is a purpose-built marina resort, good for yacht-spotting and luxury shopping. The resort of Playa Blanca has seen rapid development over the last few years, although thankfully due to the island's strict planning laws, none of this has involved high-rise developments. The location where the Foundation is now used to be Cesar Manrique's home for twenty years, between 1968 and 1988, and the house offers truly a unique experience, as it sits on a 30,000 sqm plot, and it combines modern elements of design with old traditional architecture, specific to Lanzarote. 29. Coastal walk between Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero
