About this deal

The Acqua di Giò Absolu Instinct by Giorgio Armani is a striking scent for men, skillfully crafted with a powerful, yet subtle symphony of fragrances. This perfume welcomes you initially with the fresh and tangy aroma of Italian citrus fruits that instantly connects to the crisp and refreshing scent of marine notes, truly capturing the essence of a seaside morning. Whatever. However, this new fragrance is also far removed from its predecessors such as Essenza or Profuma in both class and olfactory terms. Olfactory because the new fragrances no longer have beautiful herbs, such as basil, sage or rosemary, which gave the fragrances a great note and which came across particularly well with summer fragrances. Now the new fragrances are just more or less cheap looking, almost meaningless main streamers, which you already had a thousand times under your nose, where actually all Armanis are main streamers (except for the Privé fragrances), but that doesn't have to be bad in itself. Well, whatever. We have at least one huge rosemary bush standing in the garden here, so if I want to use this scent, I'll go rubbing myself against the bush (and the neighbours will surely think of me as a strange pervert who stands on trees and such (technical term: dendrophilie and no, don't ask me how I know the expression! D), but hey, at least this would be such an opportunity again to shout "This is not what it looks like"! :DD). Otherwise, this fragrance is an all-rounder for me, somewhat fresh, but also usable in autumn because of the woody notes. Maybe a little banal for going out, but still usable. For me, however, it is better for daily use.

Hello folks, here I am again and describe the newest fragrance of a actually beautiful fragrance series, of which I was disappointed by last year's Flanker and could not believe what Armani had brought out. We are talking about the Acqua di Giò series, which in itself is very beautiful, but with the fragrance Acqua di Giò Absolu had reached the absolute (ho ho wordplay! :D) low point, at least in my opinion. I present you a fragrance from the house of Giorgio Armani, which has done it to me smell-technically very much at first. Armani was once a bold and visionary house, particularly on the men’s side; and then, suddenly, it wasn’t. Launches such as 1996’s Acqua di Giò and 2004’s Code anchored the direction of scent development for up to a decade after their release. The fragrance opens with a bright zesty punch of Italian fruits, effortlessly combined with marine notes for a fresh, oceanic hint. A spicy undercurrent runs through the heart of the scent, lending a hint of intrigue and depth. From the first spritz to the dry-down, it maintains a consistent narrative, moving smoothly from the opening citrus notes to the earthy base of ebony, creating a journey that is both engaging and enduring. Invictus Aqua (2018) is full of fresh aquatic notes that work brilliantly in summer and spring. You can wear it in the office, gym or casually.Longevity is also quite good, but not amazing. 8 or so hours is what I get out of it on my skin, it can go a bit longer, depending on the climate that day. Update: Testing it out further, it can go up to 9, but that’s rare. Expect 7-8. The fragrance starts with a blast of grapefruit and sea notes. Straight from the beginning, it smells exactly like Acqua di Gio Absolu. Invictus has the scent to catch people’s attention right from the opening. Everyone loves its fruity and citrusy start.

After that, the fragrance turns floral with the help of jasmine, and the bay leaf becomes stronger. As the fragrance comes to an end, it becomes woody. A real all-rounder. This perfume is suitable for school as well as for all work areas. It is neither intrusive, nor does it give other people a headache. For's office 2-3 sprays are enough. Should you stay in the open, also like one more. Another interesting aspect of this cologne is the herbal undertones that peak through during the wear. It doesn’t seem to be consistently there, but I catch distinct rosemary, at times and it plays off really nice in this aquatic fragrance. When I first saw it on my brother’s study table, it immediately got caught in my eyes. And the smell does not disappoint you with this beautiful presentation. However, I’d would rather wear almost any other of the Acqua di Gio line (outside of Profondo Lights). Profumo, EDT, and Profondo are all better. As such, I don’t have a need to grab a full bottle. A flanker of a flanker. Yeah, these are the times we live in. Luxury (problem) or bullshit? Let everyone decide for themselves. Personally, I like completely new releases more and more and would like to see more quality instead of quantity, more courage as a habit, more genius as a brand, that more time is taken and more daring and thinking is done. Do this attitude and the bad experiences with superfluous flankers change something about the fact that I like "AdG Absolu Instinct" very much? No!

First 5 minutes of great citric, not as strange as Wanted, ... different, better, but not less unusual. This is soon joined by a spicy cinnamon (?) fruit aroma that could be borrowed from the Night Edition of Wanted. And right from the start there's a bit of aquatic on board, which has nothing in common with the original. A rather unusual brew, but for me a bit too synthetic and loud. Fortunately, this calms down after about 30 minutes, and another quarter of an hour later the AdG AI has finally grooved in. Because now the soft aquatic has grown to about half of the fragrance impression. In addition, the citric appears reduced and somewhat sweeter, while the cyber-cinnamon has also shrunk to a healthy size. Why this bright spiciness is not listed in the pyramid I do not understand ... Projection wise, the sillage starts out fairly powerful, but settles down into something that is more moderate but steady. You won’t need more than a few sprays for this stuff to do its magic. For an (semi) aquatic kind of cologne, it does have great power versus many others of this ilk. This cologne can make anyone calm and comfortable. You can pull it off effortlessly. It is the fragrance you grab when you do not know what to wear as it is easygoing. Now the question remains: Did Armani do himself a favor by adding Absolu Instinct to his Acqua di Gio series? With its predecessor Absolu, the company has already thrown a product expansion onto the market, which is intended to attract a broader range of customers with its sweet-woody character. Absolu Instinct continues this but for my taste more mature and elegant. And yet I don't really know if the word "Acqua" really fits. Both Absolus are not aquatic-fresh enough for me. I don't have the maritime classic AdG DNA. She flashes at most briefly at the opening. I really hope for Armani that they will not overdo it with (potential) future product extensions of their Acqua di Gio range, otherwise I fear the AdG range will be exhausted very soon. Rasasi is known for producing colognes with a touch of the Middle East. And Havas is no different; it is airy, sweet, and has a desert-like feeling.

The heart of the perfume is unmistakably patchouli, which provides an earthy and slightly spicy contrast to the invigorating citrus-marine opening. This middle note grounds the fragrance, adding a layer of depth that is both intriguing and memorable. An aquatic and citrusy cologne is always good for summer and spring, and Invictus is no different. You can wear Invictus anywhere except when the event is too formal. Aromatic colognes are meant to be weak when it comes to projection. But Acqua di Gio Absolu has a great start when it comes to its sillage because of its woody tones. It ends quite moderately. If you compare it with other aromatic colognes, it works better than them. When this particular product is first applied, bergamot, lemon and marine notes come to the fore. Next heart notes of patchouli and water lily burst on to the scene. As the fragrance matures, a surge of ebony and amber soars in to perfect the olfactory experience. Giorgio Armani Perfumes: Pricing

This scent for the 21st century is on the path to making a mark. Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Absolu Instinct However, despite its versatility, the fragrance might not be suited for all seasons. Its prominent woody and citrusy notes work wonderfully in the freshness of spring and the crisp air of fall, but they might feel a bit out of place in the heat of summer or the chill of winter. Acqua di Giò Absolu is a sweetish / fresh fragrance which conveys seriousness and well-being. The smoky / woody notes paired with the fruity / fresh result in my opinion a great creation. It has a bit of an idyllic sauna visit in a wooden cabin, in the middle of a snowy forest. However, very restrained and not so intense. It is a legend and always will be in my eyes. If you have already sniffed it, you know what I am talking about. It is a great deal with the price that it is offering. While this smells nice, it's still too expensive, and doesn't last long. It projects ok for an hour, and then stays pretty close, but I wouldn't call it a skin scent until hour 4, by which point, I don't smell it at all. It's one of those "here and gone" performers, because one minute, I smell it in the air, the next, I smell nothing. To clarify.. not that it's legitimately here and gone, time wise, but here and gone performance wise. It’s closest comparisons are that Invictus, Profondo, the original AdG, and I guess Absolu Instinct (but I haven’t tried that out). The seaweed effect is key. Another comparison is relevant: Creed. Absolu Instinct is far less seaweed than Amnesia by X-Ray or Oud Minérale by Tom Ford, and far more ambergris as in Hermes’ Eau des Merveilles. Although the animalic, furry and honey facets of ambergris are absent, as would be expected for a commercial release, the material’s flip side is evoked with flair, conjuring a cold mineral wind straight off the Atlantic. It is with this accord that clear parallels can be made to Silver Mountain Water, Erolfa and Millésime Imperial; not to say that they smell the same, but that a Creed-like signature is woven into the Acqua di Giò fabric to make the citrus and woods glisten with effervesce. Let’s start with the bottle of Havas; such an eye-pleasing bottle I must tell you. What a mesmerizing purple juice color with a heavy metal cap. The fresh and aquatic opening of Acqua di Gio Absolu will make you fall in love with it with the first sniff. The sea notes with apple and grapefruit take you on your beach vacation.
