About this deal

The Next2Me Air and Next2Me Pop Up is designed with 4 wide meshed sides for optimal airflow, keeping baby's sleep space well ventilated and cool in the hot summer months. Are you after a bedside co-sleeper which will last you for a long time? For parents looking for a crib compatible with divan beds, all three cribs in the Chicco Next2Me range feature adjustable feet. The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed with retractable feet, whilst the Chicco Next2Me Dream and Chicco Next2Me Air feature folding feet. She did feel, though, that the bed was too big to keep moving up and down the stairs and through doorways (although she didn’t actually try the latter) – it weighs 13kg so you’d need to fold it all down to carry it.

There are lots of pictures, which are quite baffling, but once you get going the bed is actually quite straightforward to set up. Anna felt it was easier not to look at the instructions as most of it you can work out for yourself. Just make sure you read the safety advice. The adjustable height options and one-handed drop side help with night feeds and allow parents to co-sleep safely, while the adjustable feet and safety straps fit the crib securely to your bed. Designed to promote airflow and breathability, the new crib features mesh panelling on all sides of the crib to allow transpiration and keep little ones cool throughout the night, as well as allowing parents to see baby at all times. It might not be the most stylish or beautiful bed, but it is safe and will offer lots of room as your baby grows, meaning you shouldn't need another option before they - and you - are ready for them to move into their own room,” she explains. 'It’s not cheap but I do think it offers great value and performance: it offers flexibility of use, and has plenty of functions built in to meet most, if not all, of baby's needs.'

It does come with four swivelling wheels and brakes to make moving it around easier, but you may still need a second bed for daytime sleeping. For parents looking for enhanced air flow, the new Chicco Next2Me Air features mesh panelling on all four sides of the crib to keep little one cool. She did find it very simple to make the switch to a stand-alone crib, though, with the mesh panels on both sides allowing you to see your baby at all times. How safe is it? During testing, it took around 30 minutes to set up the crib and attach it to the bed in side-sleeping mode, with one person doing it and no tools required. Initially, Anna worried it wouldn’t fit under their bed but the auto-retractable legs slotted in very easily and the two straps attached the crib securely to her bed. This model also features 4 wheels, so wheeling it from room to room is no problem at all if you want to keep little one close as they nap. Arguably, this is the most transportable Next2Me crib as it is the lightest one with 4 wheels, so that's something to bear in mind if you're after something especially mobile.

The larger size is great for baby’s growth, but the crib feels too big to keep moving around the house – even though it has wheels

Chicco Next2Me Dream is the side-sleeping crib that features a one handed side panel that can be easily opened during the night, allowing parents to reach little one for night feeds and cuddles. Our tester gave it top marks for usability as the drop side was so handy for her during the night. It was put to good use as she was up regularly for feeds or to soothe her three-month-old baby.To help aid with reflux and congestion, the crib can be tilted, whilst the 11 adjustable height options allow parents to find the perfect sleeping position for their little one. The double-sided mesh side panels and breathable 3D mattress cover improve airflow and aid in temperature regulation throughout the night. Suitable from: newborn until baby can sit alone, turn and raise themselves unaided – maximum weight 9kg Katy was also really impressed by the crib’s generous size. 'It’s plenty big enough to last you through the first six months of having your baby in your room with you, and likely beyond,' she adds. 'With our first daughter we had another bedside sleeper which was lovely but much smaller, and Thea soon outgrew it, especially once she'd moved into having her arms out of swaddling or sleep bags. This meant we needed another bed for use in our room before she moved into her own room and cot bed at just over six months old. With the Next 2me, there’ll be plenty of room for Bea's little arms to wave about without brushing the sides. In fact at two years old, Thea can still fit into it when she's determined to lie in 'baby's bed' - it's also sturdy enough to have coped with her clambering into it on occasion.' Comfort and features Any of the Next2Me cribs (apart from the Next2Me Forever) boast this dual functionality. The latest addition to the collection, the Next2Me Pop Up Travel Cot has been designed to make travel a breeze! As easy as 1,2,3 with cot's instant folding feature, collapse your Next2Me Pop Up in 3 seconds without having to remove any parts! Once folded, the cot is compact and easy to carry so simply place it into your Next2Me Pop Up Travel Bag (included) to set off to your destination. No need to threat about whether your Next2Me Pop Up will be compatible with your accommodation's bed, the cot includes 6 different height levels and foldable feet so your cot can adjust to any size of bed! Do you want a crib that you can raise and lower the partition at will once it's attached to your bed?
