You will find a wide array of mental characters in this novel, with a very real message which is conveyed throughout the book. You will begin to learn more about Alice, her past and why she has ended up the way she has. And in truth, she had nearly forgotten the Incident at Breakfast until later, when she climbed the stairs to get a book and heard Mama making muffled noises in her bedroom.
