Sad to say that the shooters on the rear have not been updated much: They remain as a combination of a 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto lens as last year. Thankfully, the computation stuff behind the scenes got a bit of a bump thanks to the chip, so the photos and videos come out much more balanced and naturalistic this time around. 8K video recording is still possible, the only difference is that it now supports 30 FPS rather than 24 of last year's model. 4K video goes up to 60 FPS. 1080p mode, impressively, can shoot 240 FPS. That’s not a particularly strong look for a brand-new flagship but what I can say is that the S23’s cameras are still very good for the money. In a side-by-side comparison of shots captured with the S22 Plus, Samsung’s latest came off rather well, with a richness to images and oodles of contrast. Admittedly, this doesn’t make a huge difference in terms of real-world operation but it’s the improvements compared to the previous Exynos 2200 where the Samsung Galaxy S23 really springs to life. The Galaxy S23 has an advantage over several other camera phones in its price range — it has a telephoto lens and devices like the iPhone 14 and Pixel 7 do not. That should mean sharper images, especially when you zoom for greater detail. I should mention that this is still the weakest score of all three S23 models.
