About this deal

I also love how much healthier my hair is from using henna. I have thin curly hair, and henna did mellow out the curl a bit, but not in a bad way. Frizz is maintained (a big issue for me) and split ends are less frequent. I never thought I could grow my hair much past my shoulders, but since I’ve made the switch from chemical dye to henna, my hair is stronger, breaks less often, and is able to grow. I can’t stop touching it! (But should. Hah!) This was my second attempt ever to dye my hair. It was really messy. So messy that, as soon as I started putting it on my hair (and it went on my legs, on my arms and on my face), I swore that I would never do that ever again. Then, one hour and a half later, I looked at the color of my hair… And I understood that I was going to do it many many more times instead. It’s totally worth it, the color is AWESOME! I have medium brown hair, and the week before applying the henna I had already applied a different henna (lush caca rouge), which didn’t really make my hair red. It was just a bit lighter, I would say copper. Anyway, I was a bit scared of what could have happened. You know, orange hair and stuff. Instead, I was just amazed! The color is vivid red. It’s beautiful under the sun, and it looks very dark red when the light is not too much. I am just going to buy a lot of it! Just one suggestion: don’t put too much water. I am sure it would have been much less messy if it wasn’t so liquid.

Don’t shampoo or condition hair for 48 hours. Use an old pillowcase on your pillow in case of overnight staining. …And there you have it! I used to use pure henna, and it gives me color in the sun, I’d say a dark sparkly orange/brown. But I decided to try out this Wine red just because. OMG. RED RED RED!! It showed up as red, even in dim lighting! A dark sparkly red. Very beautiful! I love it! I bought more immediately! Correct. I’ll say more about all of these laters, but, in brief, here are the main problems I have with Lush Henna Hair Dye: Use a ton of cheap conditioner when rinsing it out. I believe the instructions say you *can* use conditioner if it is dried in places, but just use it all over. Rinse as much as you can without it, rub it into places it’s clearly dried, rub it into your scalp! it’s dried there too! And then rinse, rinse, rinse. Honestly I’ve never had a bad henna experience, although I’ve only ever used this brand and Lush. I like this brand a million times better. You get far more variety in the color options, it’s way easier, and it actually LASTS! Unlike the Lush products which seemed to fade in like 4 – 6 weeks, at least on me.

Note the word “natural” in that sentence. There are plenty of very UNnatural red hair dyes out there, but that wasn’t what I was looking for. I didn’t want to look like I’d dyed my hair; I just wanted to return it to the colour I was born with (or something like it, anyway), and which I’d been for my entire life, up until the dreaded fading started.

As I dried it I could see the gorgeous red shining through. It is vibrant and absolutely beautiful. I cannot stop looking at it. I have never had an experience like this in any salon. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT. The next morning (or as soon as the dye has been released), it’s time to apply the henna. To do this, you’re going to want to wear your oldest clothes, have your oldest towels at hand, and apply barrier cream of some kind (I use good ol’ Vaseline) around the hairline. Did I mention it’s messy?Wine red is the darkest red in our collection: even a shade or two darker than straight henna, few to no brown undertones, it’s pure deep red. Similar to red wine or a maraschino cherry. A deep intense color. Amazing. Just amazing. I had previously dyed my hair colors that washed out within a matter of weeks, and wanted a red that was going to stay….. it has been eight freaking months. Thinking about trying Lush Henna Hair Dye to revive your faded red hair? Read this honest review first… One of the fascinating little facts people like to quote about redheads is that our hair doesn’t go grey, it simply fades. It comes as a henna powder, to which you add hot water to make a paste. Once you have done a patch test for allergies and smeared your hairline with something protective, such as a rich skin cream to prevent the colour from getting on your skin, you are good to go and work the cream into your hair.

Mehndi or henna paste coats the hair cuticles and the colour of the henna will move to the hair shaft through the gaps in the cuticle. Henna dye will not alter the natural structure of the hair but rather conditions the scalp thus decreasing hair loss. The henna on the surface protects the hair from sun and pollution damage, thus leaving the hair healthy and shiny. Furthermore, a component of henna can help in covering the white and grey hairs. What are the things to consider in choosing Henna Hair Dye? The color. Holy mother, the color. I expected to be more of a ginger, but this stuff delivers. Deep, fiery, radiant wine red. My hair is pretty dark and I was worried after I got out of the shower, but once it started to dry? Man, oh man. Awesome. I’ve also noticed that the only articles of clothing that remained stained by the run-off from my hair were the shirt I was wearing when I applied this stuff and one small section of the towel I used to dry my hair after rinsing the henna out. Storage: We recommend you store henna in a cool dark place, fridge or freezer and away from moisture. The color will bleed. Sometimes, for several weeks. white/ light colored pillowcases, towels, and shirts will get stained. Oxygen bleach works great for washable fabrics. The henna binds right to the hair shaft, and becomes one with your natural color and highlights. Then the added herbs and natural treatments combine to darken down the shade by a couple notches and bring it to a dark passionate wine red. It’s very bold & super lovely. Mix your henna. I did this the night before and left it for around twelve hours before applying it onto my hair. I left it on our countertop at room temperature but it is recommended that you leave it to sit in a dark(ish) area. Additionally, dying the beard using henna is considered sunnah in Islamic tradition – practices of the Islamic prophet Muhammad that are used as a model for Muslims to follow. After you henna your hair, the henna oxidizes. That means the color continues to develop for about 24 – 48 hours. When you shampoo after two or three days of doing henna, you may get some faint residue of the henna on towels and may see a faint color in your rinse/shower. Similar to when you color your hair. After two days, your color will no longer “run”.

When I woke up in the morning the color was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. I have never gotten that color even with chemical dye. It was such a bright maroon-red and it had highlights of a lighter red which I loved. Thank you Henna Color Lab for a product that I am so over the top happy exists on ALL levels of your company. I am so truly thankful places like you exist.I’ve read different opinions on whether it’s best to apply henna hair dye to wet or dry hair, but, having tried both, I have to say I don’t really notice much difference, really: so it’s up to you. However you choose to apply it, I’d advise wearing gloves, and taking care to cover the hair throughly, to make sure you don’t end up with patchy coverage. It can take a bit of time to do this, but, once it’s done, all you have to do is cover it with a showercap (I use clingfilm, because that’s how I roll), and wait. You can also add a dash of ginger, paprika, allspice, or nutmeg to bulk henna powder to increase the red (I prefer just basic red henna.) Ask the store clerk for colour suggestions and how much henna is appropriate for your hair length.Lush carries a variety of natural henna products which can be broken down into powder, available in the UKand US. For the henna artist, pure henna leaves powder triple sifted and grounded into very fine powder makes a very light easy body art henna paste used in mehndi temporary henna tattoo designs, making an easy hair dye to wash out of hair I just did my 2nd application last night and the color is just as amazing as before! The color swatches in the images was true in my case, my hair was previously a darkish brown with some blonde-ish highlights, it created a nice effect of varying shades of red in my hair. I’ve been told it looks like it was done professionally at a salon! For me, the main issue I have with Caca Rouge is that, while it works perfectly on the lengths, the hair around my temples is much lighter (It’s always been fairly blonde, but now has a fair few white hairs in there too), and Caca Rogue is much less natural on those lighter hairs – in fact, it turns them a fairly neon shade of orange. No, I won’t be sharing the photos of that…
