About this deal

The Mavic 3 Pro uses the same 5000mAh batteries as previous models. Presumably as a result of the additional weight, advertised flight times have been reduced from 46 to 43 minutes. In testing, flight times weren’t noticeably different and still sit around the 30-minute mark of the other Mavic 3 models, so this is pretty much negligible. The Mavic line has been a powerhouse for DJI. Every release has been popular, and every release brings with it substantial improvements. We would expect nothing less for the Mavic Pro 3.

DJI worked with Swedish camera maker Hasselblad to create a custom L2D-20c camera for the Mavic 3 series. Placed on the bottom, the main camera features a 20MP, Four Thirds CMOS sensor that has a 24mm (equiv.) lens with 84º FOV and variable F2.8-11 aperture. It can shoot still images in 12-bit Raw format. The entire dual-camera system is placed on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal. The Mavic 3 series is clearly aimed at professional drone pilots, given its pricing. This is why, in my opinion, DJI should have continued using the GO 4 app. Maybe Hasselblad's HNCS technology is so accurate that there isn't a need to delve into the different types of White Balance settings including Sunny, Cloudy, and Incandescent. But what if I decided I wanted to shoot in Shutter or Aperture Priority mode? Why does DJI's Phantom 4, which was released over five years ago warrant these sophisticated photography settings compared to a drone that costs substantially more?

Measured with Mavic 3 flying at a constant speed of 32.4 kph in a windless environment at sea level until the battery reached 0%. Data is for reference only. Please pay attention to the RTH reminder on the DJI Fly app during flight. The Mavic 3 is around the same size as the Mavic 2, though opens out a little larger. Every version is supplied with a clip-round case to protect the handsome camera gimbal (assuming you can live without symmetry). Getting it on and off takes a little getting used to but gives that professional feel the device deserves and solves the issue of flapping props and at-risk cameras in drones of similar proportions. It’s no harder than the clip-on plastic protectors on other models, but it’s doing more work.

The release of the Mavic 3 series is long-awaited and for the most part, it delivers. My disappointment comes from the fact that more abilities to customize your photo settings weren't included. DJI periodically updates its firmware, so the company could surprise us in the future. And since they never cannibalize their product line, I can't help but wonder what's next? What's yet to come might offer the Hasselblad color profile, an optical zoom, and possibly even interchangeable lenses on an aircraft that can easily be carried around. Measured in an outdoor, open environment, without interference, and with FCC compliance. The above data shows the farthest communication range for one-way, non-return flights. Please pay attention to RTH reminders in the DJI Fly app during your flight. Larger sensor is of minor interest and its improvements can be had with consideration to better lighthing. This new DJI RC Pro controller only comes with the Cine Premium Combo, with the Standard and Fly More bundles instead coming with the DJI RC-N1 pad. (Image credit: Future) Shown on the Cine remote, you can adjust all your basic video settings at the bottom right-hand-side of the screen. You'll have to access the three-dot menu at the top right, and go into settings while in Video mode, to chose a codec - including ProRes. The Mavic 3 Pro, alongside the Mavic 3 Classic and Mavic 3, is also compatible with the DJI Goggles Integra, DJI Goggles 2, and the DJI RC Motion 2, so it can also be flown in an FPV style for a more immersive flight experience and video footage. This is useful for those who can’t justify purchasing the DJI Avata but, inevitably, adds additional cost to the Mavic 3 Pro kits if you decide these accessories would be beneficial. DJI Mavic 3 Pro: Image and video quality If you're feeling particularly flush, there's also the Cine Premium Combo, which sees the drone's storage bumped to 1TB and includes all of the Fly More Combo accessories, plus the new DJI RC Pro controller and two sets of ND filters. Now, we’d argue there are some cinematographers who actually prefer to shoot with the Goggles rather than staring at a tablet. So this one’s up in the air. Enhanced AI?

Unobstructed and free of interference. Actual resolution may vary depending on the quality of the transmission signal. I attached a nx500 to my Phantom 2 years ago and been getting 28mp images for years, with sharp image due to setting high shutter speed, it would take a Ar7 series too, bit of guess work, but once you know about photography its easy to predict right settings and get a great image, all of which are far superior to these 20mp phone quality images from a 5000 overpriced drone, at least the cine version.Crucially, the Mavic 3’s flight time extends to an amazing 45 minutes (or around 40 minutes in reality). This means cinematographers have more time to capture those money shots without the panic of a low battery alarm ringing in the ears. The Mavic 3 comes armed with obstacle sensors above, below and to the sides. Consequently, its ability to avoid crashing into walls, tree foliage and other large obstructions is second to none.
