About this deal

There's no sweetness in this, either from sweet fruits or gourmand notes or amber. If you like florals at all, or are at least curious as to what everyone raves about, I suggest that you give this a try.

I wore it yesterday, and left my skirt hanging over my bed. Well the window was open a cool breeze was flowing in. So I kept getting whiffs of this really fresh fragrance?!

Customers included Natalie Wood, Princess Grace, Ronald Reagan, Nancy Reagan, Diana Ross, Charlton Heston, and Elizabeth Taylor. [2] Present day [ edit ] The opening citrus and aldehydes are like bottomless Mimosas; sweet, fizzy and boozy. The woodsiness creeps in like a slow-burning incense you didn't even realize was there. A sensual seduction of chypres awaits you in this Beverly Hills boudoir. Almost church like but has too much of a naughtiness interwoven with the oakmoss and vetiver to be a strictly Catholic mass incense. I'm thinking more...Laurel Canyon sex party, sunken living room, coke on silver trays. Debauchery served with a side of modern 80s career woman.

Red is a really wonderful surprise. Not loud, not pushy, not stinky. But rather a really lovely leather class fragrance that arrested my senses and delighted me and all who came close enough to get a whiff! It wasn’t “Dynasty”, or “Hotel” or “Knott’s Landing” in a bottle. It was rather elegant and refined. I had this a few years ago and LOVED it! A little goes a long way. I love its sweetness - like biting into a chewy fruit candy paired with more sophisticated woody tones - YUM! I decided this would be my new signature (as Elysium is sadly discontinued) and bought a new bottle. To my horror the new one smelt awful! The sweetness was overpowered by something else - something so awful I can't even describe it! Not sure if I got one that was off or if they changed the formula. Either way, I haven't been game to try again. Yes, despite the fact that she was never a signature scent for me, nor even a favorite, she has the power to evoke the biggest reaction out of me of all scents past and present. Which is both fascinating and SCARY.

Red is...well, red as it is.It is the bright side of the 80s, the shoulder power suit, the glossy pantyhose, the times of almost virginal 90s are not yet seen in the crystal ball and the party goes on full blast. If it is a rose - by god, it is long stemmed, velvety and intoxicating, and the skankiness - it will make the civet cat have seizures from envy.Beware of the staying power, it is beyond your wildest dreams. The fragrance comes with a ton of happy memories including my older sister tried to hide her mini bottle from me in her room, probably the only time we spoke in delight ha ha we laughed about its x rated properties that bottle went MIA later. The scent memories, just like the fragrance. Giorgio was never known for its innocence -that peach note maybe was to smooth out the notes? I doubt it really bc peach note was in everything then. RED remained with me until 2001, when during a move, she, along with a dozen of other liquid friends, were relegated to the storage unit. A storage unit my Mother had, and a few years later, had forgot to pay the bill for. Yep…where RED and her other friends ended up, I have no idea. But I do know, she still had a lotta life left in her (she was still ¾ full when I last saw her).

Right after spraying, Red is way too sythetic smelling on my skin, and it tends to smell quite a long like this when smelling up close the wrists. However, thenice fragrance cloud it creates around me is beautiful with the above mentioned slightly chypre-like character and oriental spices, fruits and flowers. It comes close to being too cloyingly sweet for but finally the notes balace out nicely. It’s sort of a dark, quiet beauty that’s compelling in a confident way, the one with something deep and interesting to say but in no hurry to share it; the introverted guest walking along cement form promenades in the moonlight, while everyone else is dancing the night away in the ballroom.I agree it was everywhere during the 80’s, it was loud and ladies sprayed it like there was no tomorrow. But come on, Giorgio smells gorgeous, bright and elegant. Most of all it is a part of a beautiful time we will never see again, our teenage years. Why? Because, in the end, your signature scent isn't really something you can choose. It's something that fits you, a descriptor in scent. It's who you are - not who you want to be. I can smell grassy or citrus-y, or aqueus... but at best they become personas. But Red is me, with the gloves off. I have wanted to try this for a while, but the only store around that has this had no bottles designated as testers (which is ironic because the bottles they have for sale are testers). I had to return a faulty bottle of another fragrance for credit and it just so happened to cost exactly the same price, so after a quid pro quo swap I left the store. As usual I couldn’t wait to get home to try it so I put some on in my car before I turned on the engine. It softens up a bit later on. Don`t give up on it at once. Some people who can pull it off are walking proudly among us mortals, surrounded by a powdery carnation/rose/every red flower existing fragrant halo, and do they turn heads!
