About this deal

For the first time since I had arrived in America I had an almost physical sense of being in the wrong place, as if I were being tugged by invisible cords to somewhere a million miles away." Paris for One and Other Stories (2015), collection of 10 short stories and 1 novella: ISBN 0735221073 "Paris for One", "Between the Tweets", "Love in the Afternoon", "A Bird in the Hand", "Crocodile Shoes", "Holdups", "Honeymoon in Paris" (novella), "Last Year's Coat", "Thirteen Days with John C", "Margot", "The Christmas List"

So whilst I could comprehend Agnes’s actions I still think that she should have approached her troubles differently. A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENTLY! I mean who cares about what those women thought about her? If she felt inappropriately dressed for the events she had to attend, why the hell didn’t she recruit a stylist?! Money obviously wasn’t a problem and if you have a personal hair dresser, coach and assistant already I’m sure it’s not that hard to get a proper stylist as well. She would have automatically felt more confident and comfortable and that would have had an effect on the people around her as well. Also sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and hold your head high. Well, at least that’s what I would have done, along with giving them my best impression of the finger. ;-P Just saying. I love Lou as a character, she is so ridiculously relatable and I see parts of myself in her. It was wonderful to see her story continue, she deserves happiness and I am glad that Jojo Moyes gave it to her. <3Still Me didn't quite blow me away, but I devoured the book anyway. Louisa is just one of those characters you root for even as she's making missteps, and it's so good to spend more time with her and her family again. This is a series that keeps on giving—the feels, that is. Book Review: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes". Ethereal Jinxed. 1 September 2018 . Retrieved 10 August 2022.

for those few minut Louisa Clark arrived in New York from England. She began working as Agnes Gopnik’s assistant. The Gopniks were a wealthy family that lived in the Lavery hotel. Louisa lived in the staff quarters of the Gopniks’ apartment with her friend Nathan, who was Mr. Gopnik’s personal trainer, and Ilaria, who was the Gopniks’ housekeeper. Agnes, Mr Gopnik’s young Polish wife, insisted that Louisa view her as a friend. Agnes invited Louisa to accompany her to a charity event called the Yellow Ball because she felt uncomfortable around all the people who judged her at Mr. Gopniks’ elite social events. At the ball, Louisa met Josh Ryan, a man from a wealthy family who looked like Louisa’s first love Will Traynor. Following the ball, Agnes expressed to Louisa how uncomfortable she felt in her new lifestyle, having lost all her old friends once she married her rich husband. Before attending university, Moyes held several jobs: she was a typist at NatWest typing statements in braille for blind people, a brochure writer for Club 18-30, and a minicab controller for a brief time. While an undergraduate at Royal Holloway, University of London, Moyes worked for the Egham and Staines News. [10]

The Writing

Thank you to Penguin Group Viking and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. While the series may have started off as a romance, Jojo Moyes has turned Louisa Clark’s story into one about learning to be, and to love, yourself.” —Bustle
