Streets of Rage, along with its two sequels, was included in the Japanese version of the Sonic Gems Collection for the GameCube and PlayStation 2, but was omitted from the North American GameCube version to avoid it gaining an E10+ rating, and also from the European GameCube and PlayStation 2 versions for similar reasons. Let us know in the comment section below! Reviewing the game's appearance in Sega Arcade Classics for the Sega CD, Glenn Rubenstein said it "still holds up well." An amateur group has been working for SEVEN years on this project. A big remake of the Streets of Rage series, complete with all enemies and playable characters, even the secret ones like Ash, Roo, Shiva... Even Electra and Mr.X are playable in this VERY POLISHED, refined and wonderfully made, game, which albeit amateur, feels and plays like a PROFESSIONAL work!

Streets of Rage was followed by two sequels on the Sega Genesis, Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 3. There were plans for two further sequels, one of which was developed by Core Design for the Sega Saturn, but Sega pulled the Streets of Rage name during development after a disagreement with Core about porting it to rival formats; the game was eventually released as Fighting Force. The series would only get another sequel, Streets of Rage 4, after almost 30 years later which was developed by Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube, and being published Dotemu. I have to be honest, Streets of Rage is not the game it was when I last played it in 1994. It's rough edges really show through now and it's main selling point at the time, it's presentation is not enough to save it now. It's also way too easy, especially in two-player mode me and my mate cleared the game at the first attempt. To do this, press down [B] and Right on the Player 1 controller, and Left and [A] on the Player 2 controller. Whilst everything is still pressed in, Press [C] on the Player 2 controller. The community is very live and a plethora of mods are already around, most of them EXCEPTIONALLY WELL made, too, like the SOR 1, 2, 3 faithful remakes, the V4 remake, way of the warrior, rage in time and the Knights of the Round, Warriors of Fate and King of Dragons! Hell, they even made a golden axe trilogy mod, crossover with Streets of Rage! Yin-Poole, Wesley (May 29, 2012). "Streets of Rage, Golden Axe collections hit Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow". Eurogamer . The second entry in the series, Streets of Rage 2, had new music (influenced by early '90s club music) from series composer Yuzo Koshiro and newcomer composer Motohiro Kawashima, more defined graphics and a larger selection of moves. It also introduced two new characters: Eddie "Skate" Hunter, and Max Thunder (or Sammy "Skate" Hunter and Max Hatchett in some regions). Like the original title, Streets of Rage 2 was playable on Sega's Genesis, Master System, and Game Gear. The 2015 crossover game Project X Zone 2 featured Axel Stone as a playable character, along with the Mr. X-possessed Robot Axel as a boss character. This marked the first new appearance of Streets of Rage characters in over 20 years. These three stories are an alternate continuity from the games and do not feature Adam. A graphic novel compilation of the original six-part "Streets of Rage" strip was released as a book titled Streets of Rage: Bad City Fighters in the UK in 1994. Several add-ons were released, including a Power Base Converter to play Master System games. It was released in several different versions,
