Magnet Mascara, Benefit made the opening of its tube slightly smaller than necessary so that it scrapes away all the excess product from the brush as it's being pulled out. lala1211 Excited at first but then....raccoon eyes :( The product really made my lashes pop and look much more dramatic and full but then literally after about 30 minutes of just getting dressed, I noticed it started to flake and add it some major raccoon eyes underneath and I was so disappointed. The brush is sharp but I feel like that was super helpful to get the application right. The length it gave my lashes, it was like magic! Where did they come from? I genuinely believe the effect this mascara gives is like an LVL lash lift! The brushes: The OG They’re Real! brush had an hourglass shape with long plastic bristles and a custom-domed tip that targets tiny lashes. In contrast, the new They’re Real! Magnet brush is straight and has much shorter plastic bristles that easily grab lashes and allow you to get right to the root. The results: Wow! The new formula adds instant length and makes lashes look super pretty. You can choose to apply a few swipes for daytime or keep swiping it on for more drama. We say swipes because we don’t recommend using this to build up coats and coats, as it will get clumpy if left to dry between layers. Instead, keep swiping the brush through while it’s wet to perfect your look. Wiggle the brush from the root of your lashes to the tips. Allow for a few seconds of drying time, and apply another coat if desired. Well, { Benefit} has just blessed us with one of those very arrivals… The wear: Our lashes stayed looking full and lifted all day, and the formula never felt dry, heavy, or uncomfortable. However, the formula does tend to smudge. When we baked under our eyes, we didn’t see any smudging along the lower lash line until after about six hours, but when we didn’t set our makeup with powder, we did see more smudging after just a few hours. If you tend not to have oily skin, then you might not have any smudging at all. While the brush's magnetic center is a standout feature (they're actually working to patent the technology in the EU and the U.S.), there are a few other design characteristics worth pointing out. The mascara's custom-engineered brush also boasts soft zig-zag bristles that allow it to comfortably glide through your lashes and lift them. The development team also spent time innovating the mascara's wiper. Customized to the brush, you're guaranteed to get the right amount of product on the brush every time you pull it out of the tube, without having to worry about mess, excess, or clumps. We were immediately impressed with the formula and how effortlessly it coated our lashes. Even after layering it through our lashes just a few times, we had impressive length. It also kept our lashes well separated, and they didn’t clump together. Many people find the original they’re Real! Mascara hard to remove. However, it’s all about the formula you use to take it off. Benefit has a dedicated they’re Real! Remover if you’d like to stay within the range or I’d recommend a bi-phase eye makeup remover. A bi-phase formula combines two phases of oil and water mixed, which lift away stubborn, long-wear makeup without pulling or tugging. One of my favourites is La Roche-Posay Respectissime.

When I was finished applying the mascara and inspected my lashes in the mirror, I was every bit impressed. This mascara helped me achieve my goal of having lashes that pop on camera, so it's safe to say it has won me over. The lengthening effects were clearly visible, making it appear as though I glued on a pair of fluttery faux lashes. Though there were a few small clumps on my lashes post-application, that's not a dealbreaker for me. The dynamic formula allows it to provide stunning definition, volume, and length that lasted all day. And if you're wondering, it didn't flake or smudge at all.One coat later and I was pretty impressed. If I was going out of the house I would definitely go in with another coat or two, as the mascara definitely focuses on length over volume (thanks to the magnetic fibres which cling to the ends of your lashes as you pull the wand away).By the evening, there was a slight transfer on my eyelids, which I usually expect as my skin can be quite oily. However, the staying power was proved by the removal process, requiring a little more elbow grease and good faith to remove all traces. Curls lashes nicely while separating for a more lengthy yet natural look. I would definitely recommend using this mascara. Its long name is fitting because length is exactly what you can expect from this magnetic mascara. But in true Benefit style, that’s not it. In fact, I like my lashes as dramatic as a good Hollywood movie, with a touch of reality of course. However, I hate faffing with falsies, so I spend a lot of time hunting for new mascaras that will give me maximum volume and curl with minimal effort. I’m a fan of Benefit mascaras and my expectations were very high, because if we’re talking ‘They’re Real!’ but better, I know we are about to hit iconic grounds.
