Bundt pans. Bake this traditional European cake with our fluted bundt tins and bundt trays for mini versions. Gradually beat the egg mixture into the butter and sugar mixture, adding only a little egg mixture at a time and making sure it is well incorporated before adding more, until all of the egg mixture has been incorporated and the mixture is well combined. Springform pan. A springform pan has a latch and a removable base to make unfolding your cakes fast and easy. Type. Cake tins come in many types for baking different cakes, from layer cakes and muffins to tarts and bundt cakes.

Preparation is only one half of the baking equation. Once you’ve created the perfect mix for a light, fluffy sponge or a moist fruit cake, it’s down to the baking to bring out the best results. We’ve allowed 30g/1oz buttercream icing for each cupcake and 20g/¾oz for fairy cakes. This is enough to pipe a modest rose, but not a skyscraper swirl. If you like a lot of icing, you may want to double the recipe. Fondant icing If you haven’t yet made their acquaintance, we’d like to introduce you to PushPans. If you use a cake tin that’s too small, all that lovely cake batter will rise over the sides of the tin. Too big, and the sides shield the cake mix from the oven and slow the baking time right down. Bring a little water to the boil in a pan, reduce the heat to a simmer and suspend a heatproof bowl over the simmering water. (Do not allow the base of the bowl to touch the water.) Add the chocolate to the bowl and allow to melt. Spread the melted chocolate over the top and sides of the cake.

For the chocolate cake, in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until the mixture is pale and light. Sometimes it can be difficult to calculate the correct quantity of cake mixture for these tins, so we need to work in volumes rather than sizes. The following chart gives the volume of each size standard tin and using this, you will be able to calculate the amount of mixture you need. Pour the cake batter into the greased, lined cake tin. Shape. Will you go for a traditional round cake pan, a rectangular cake pan or try something new with a heart cake tin? Before first use, wash and dry your PushPan, and grease the inside and base. Insert the base with the silicone seal at the bottom, and gently push all the way down until it sits evenly against the bottom of the collar with a snug fit. To serve your creation once it’s baked, just place the pan on a tall tin from your cupboard, push down on the top of the collar to release the seal, then slide your cake from the base onto a serving plate.
