In ninth edition, Imperial Knights could be elevated to a position in the Exalted Court, granting them additional abilities to reflect their rank in the noble household. That’s no longer part of the core faction rules for Knights in 10th edition, but it was so cool and flavorful we’ll be surprised if it doesn’t return in some form as a Detachment. Questor Imperialis and Questor Mechanicus Canis Rex is a unique Knight Preceptor piloted by Sir Hekthur Cerberan, a Freeblade known as "the Chainbreaker," who was once a scion of House Cerberan, which ruled the Knight World of Randoryn Alpha. After his homeworld and house fell to conquest by the Heretic Astartes of the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion, Cerberan prayed to the Emperor for a miracle while the Chaos Space Marines tortured him.

This time, these Battleforces are all for the first founding chapters, as Warhammer Community unveiled the new box sets and what you can score in each! Piloted by Sir Hekhtur, the Chainbreaker, Canis Rex is one of the most well-known of all the Imperium's Freeblade Knights. Sir Hekhtur acts as a mentor as well as a war leader, taking young pilots under his wing and inspiring them with his experience in battle. He and his squires roam the galaxy together, punishing the tyrannical scions of Chaos. There were eight 40k Christmas Battleforces in 2022. That is huge, as starting in 2016, there were only eight battleforces altogether for both AoS and Warhammer 40k total!
