This was the first “BaseGate” issue - the included bases (were the correct size but) had an extra hole in them and people were grumpy. Mephiston Red has been my go-to colour for the roses on the Myrmourn Banshee bases the Thorns of the Briar Queen and the (scenic) Glaivewraith Stalkers. Mortal Realms seems to call these “A sprues”“Reinforcements” so you can plan your stuff like that I guess … I will.

There are five Glaivewraiths (with the horse head) and four Reapers (with the scythes) along with a Lord-Executioner. Immune to Rend –All of your units ignore modifiers to saves, positive or negative making high rend opposition useless.

No Subfactions – In a rather baffling decision, Nighthaunts don’t have subfactions like other books. It was a launch battletome so it’s likely they did not know at the time those would be so important. Warhammer Underworlds Warband. As can be expected the same story is true here, due to requiring they come with the warband, the point cost is inflated to a point that makes the Hero themselves worthless. If you can even get one at this point, as they were in the second edition of Warhammer Underworlds which has since gone out of print. If you’re bringing 2 large squads of Chainrasps, which is certainly viable, this battalion makes them a huge pain in the ass. Baneblade Brown is the “other” brown that has been my go-to for wood on the Nighaunt minis in the magazine Personally, I think the sight of hordes of chainrasp models look amazing on the battlefield. Especially when they’re swarming an unsuspecting enemy or charging through tight streets between buildings.The kit is OOP and the issue doesn’t seem to be on sale anywhere!
