Bostik 3070 Liquid Cork Sealant not only provides an aesthetic finish to the floor, but more importantly, effectively eliminates all stresses. Once the sealant is dry, you may want to apply a second coat to ensure maximum protection and durability. Again, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. If you’re looking for specialist mastic or a general-purpose silicone sealant, our wide range is sure to have everything you need for bonding, waterproofing and weatherproofing both inside and outside your home. Allow the sealant to dry completely before using the rod. This may take several hours, so be patient and don’t rush the process.

Apply a small amount of sealant to a clean, dry cloth and rub it onto the cork handle in a circular motion, making sure to cover the entire handle. Using the Wrong Type of Sealant: Make sure to use a sealant specifically designed for cork fishing rod handles to avoid damaging the cork. A particular benefit of cork flooring is that it can be repaired should stains or scratches occur —just like some types of wood flooring. While Wellseal is a good product, it should not be required for this application. I regularly used it between engine parts, such as crankcase halves where no gasket was employed (ie metal-to-metal faces), and never ever experienced a leak. However it should simply not be needed for a sump gasket on an A series engine.

How to approach the installation? Bostik 3070 cork mass should be applied with an applicator gun specially dedicated to the liquid cork. It should be dry, free from dust and grease. The drying time of the spray cork insulation is about 6 to 12 hours – depends on the temperature conditions in the interior where you fix your cork sealant for expansion joint. It is commonly supplied in tile form, designed to be glued down directly to a sub floor, such as concrete or plywood. For hard to reach areas inside or outdoors, expanding foam is a flexible solution for sealing gaps around pipes and wires, while tough and long-lasting exterior sealants can be used on exterior pipework, roofing, guttering, glazing and frames.

A: Yes, Bostik 3070 is waterproof and can be used in wet areas but is not recommended for use in swimming pools or other areas with constant exposure to water.

When two floors are joined together, an expansion joint must be created and filled with a material that can resist compression and stretching. Since changes in temperature and humidity can cause the floors to expand or contract slightly, it's advisable to create a gap of 5-10 mm on the joint to help reduce stress between the floor surfaces. I am adding this to the review just so other people do not make the mistake I did... it says to just put one coat on but I HIGHLY recommend putting 2. It does penetrate enough with one coat. On a new rod I put one light coat then wait about a hour or longer if you like and then put another light coat (you can tell when it dries). I noticed 1 coat does not absorb enough. I put 2 coats on my new NRX and Conquest and it's been about 2 weeks and it's perfect. The one NRX rod I only put one light coat basically wore off in a few fishing trips. Honestly you could probably even put 3 coats. I think ever cork is a little different depending on the wood filler or whatever they put on it when they finish the cork with. So my experience with G. Loomis cork is you need at least 2 light coats. It looks normal also. It's not shiny or glossy with 2 coats.
