About this deal

There you have it. Some really neat resin miniatures from a relatively new gaming company. Although the company is new, the guy behind it has a wealth of experience and it shows in their work. If you are into the Cyberpunk genre, these Cyberpunk Red miniatures by Monster Fight Club are well worth a look. For those who want to look into Cyberpunk Red, the miniatures game, it is published by R. Talsorian Games.

Tokens show at a glance what each of the characters on the table is capable of. Here the Maelstrom figure has used all three of its actions, turning its tokens over. Meanwhile, the Tyger Claw figure has two actions left. Photo: Charlie Hall/Polygon The miniatures in this review are actually representations of the players from a Cyberpunk Red game scheduled for Gary Con. Due to COVID-19, this event could not occur, but RealmSmith facilitated and recorded the actual game. Below is the Youtube video of that session. The game Master of this section is actually the original creator of the Cyberpunk RPG, Mike Pondsmith. Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone has already received accolades as a Polygon Recommends 2023 award winner and one of IGN’s top-rated games of 2023. Don't miss your opportunity to get started now! Let me introduce you to Team Monster. Monster Fight Club actually modeled these miniatures after the player participants of a Cyberpunk Red game scheduled for Gary Con. Of course, COVID-19 put a stop to that convention this year (2020), but the group didn’t let that stop them. They played the game online with RealmSmith and recorded the session. You can watch it below or on YouTube. Showcases Our showcases show interesting products. Many are painted, some are not, but they are all neat. We do our best to inform the readers of what they are looking at so they can find the products for themselves if they are interested.A high-tech dystopia with rich world-building. Take part in your own story set in the world of Cyberpunk and spark your imagination using scenario cards, a terrain set, and truly gorgeous miniatures. Unlike many other modern crowdfunding campaigns, Monster Fight Club’s Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone feels like the start of something big. This isn’t a one-time offer for a high-concept product that’s going to disappear, never to be produced again. It’s something that Kovaleski and Dill plan to have in friendly local game stores around the world for years to come.

In addition to having strong brand-name recognition, Combat Zone is also a lot less expensive than large-format wargames like Warhammer 40,000. That’s because you only need about three to six miniatures to do battle in a relatively small area — here, a space that’s 22 inches wide and 30 inches long. That means your investment in terms of both time and money will be much lower than with a traditional miniatures wargame. You can pull these really cool heroic things out of combat,” Kovaleski said, “where I am bloodied, I’m on the street, I am crawling. You come up to headshot me and — Holy crap! — I pulled it out. I’m not dead. That’s pretty neat.” Combat Zone features a new, fast-paced game engine that where the players can act and react in organic, free-flowing actions. No rounds, no phases - the game just goes. As your characters take hits and get wounded, their abilities degrade - so strike hard and strike fast! Central to its mechanics are a set of color-coded dice and a matching ruler, called the Limiter. It has green, yellow, and red sections to denote short, medium, and long range. It’s the only measurement tool that you need to run the game, and it also informs all the actions you might take during your turn. A fast-paced game engine. Crafted by veteran creators of tabletop games, Combat Zone lets you act and react in organic, free-flowing actions. No rounds, no turns - the game just goes.

Some nice boots on this Cyberpunk. She is at rest, but she has a number of weapons on her too. Thoughts on the Cyberpunk Red Miniatures In this post, I am miniatures strictly from a figures perspective. I believe that these figures would also work very well in miniatures agnostic games like Zona Alfa or Reality’s Edge. That is on top of working well with their intended RPG – Cyberpunk Red. With that out of the way, let’s get into this Cyberpunk Red Miniatures Review. Left to Right… Cyberpunk Red Miniature, Games Workshop – 40K Cultist, Cyberpunk Red Miniature, Warlord Games – Bolt Action, Cyberpunk Red Miniature, RAFM – SWAT Officer, Cyberpunk Red Miniature, Reaper Miniatures. Wrapping it up… This campaign begins with standard 20-foot containers, adds all-new half-sized 10-foot containers, and then is followed by “hab” containers: tiny homes and small shops for your present-day, near-future, or far-future battlefield. Finally, we bring you open-sided containers, perfect for protecting those valuable assets like your prized white tigers or that old smoky diesel generator. Moreover, you can turn them into bridges to cross a ravine or a skywalk for your hab units! We’re also introducing two new connectors that allow you to link your containers end-to-end, making your container setup even more varied and versatile. As if that wasn’t enough, there's even more!

Miniatures skirmish games, like Games Workshop’s Necromunda or Corvus Belli’s Infinity, rely on some notoriously dense rulesets. While you don’t need more than a handful of miniatures to play, you will often spend hours at the table trying to sort out how to move and fire on your opponents. Combat Zone reduces the complexity considerably. As a note, the Game Master to the game is actually the original creator of the Cyberpunk RPG, Mike Pondsmith. How cool is that? Of course, just as in the real world, gunfights in Combat Zone are incredibly dangerous. Wounded characters are less effective, and the quality and number of their actions is depleted the more damage that they take. Red actions turn into yellow, yellow into green, and so on, until they ultimately go out of action. But taking some wounds doesn’t mean your characters are any less deadly. In this game it doesn’t matter if you’re rolling a d6 or a d20. If your dice land on the highest possible number, your target is in trouble. Combat Zone is set in 2045. That’s the same era as Cyberpunk Red, making it a prequel to CD Projekt Red’s video game. The action takes place in the aforementioned Combat Zones in and around Night City, a fictional West Coast metropolis located between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Imagine the most run-down urban areas of the rust belt overrun with heavily-armed gangs and you’ve got the right idea.Cyberpunk 2077 has proved controversial for a number of reasons, not the least of which was its buggy launch on consoles. But the tabletop franchise that it was based on is experiencing an incredible renaissance. Cyberpunk Red, the latest version of the game from publisher R. Talsorian Games, is one of the most elegant and accessible TTRPGs of the generation. Now, a new studio is taking that dark future world in a different direction with a new miniatures skirmish game titled Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone. Monster Fight Club and R.Talsorian Games are proud to present Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone. This exciting new skirmish miniatures game boasts: In this post, we take a look at some really well done miniatures by Monster Fight Club for the new Cyberpunk Red RPG. For more detailed introductions to the rules and gameplay, please watch the videos in the gallery. What’s in the box? In the time of the Red, every city has a Combat Zone: an area of the city where the law doesn’t reach and cyber-enhanced gangs vie for control over the streets.
