About this deal

The Coleman Mosedale 5 is another popular alternative: very similar to the Rydal 500 size-wise, but the fabrics (both flysheet and the groundsheet) are a big improvement compared to the Rydal 500 – again, reflected in the price. Detailed review of the Coleman Mosedale 5 here. The Eurohike Air tents – Air 400 & Air 600 – are one of the lowest priced inflatable tents in their respective category. They only come in these two sizes (4 person and 6 person), and only come in one colour (navy blue). In the case of families, this is a tent for parents with 2 or maximum 3 kids. The tent is also great for couples because of the separate sleeping areas.Note that the living area is also fully sealed so a few people can sleep there as well; you have 8 square meters of the area in that part alone.

The Eurohike Rydal 400 Air sleeps 4 sleeps four in a single bedroom but is very practical in offering extra space for couples. Feels a bit dark inside. Strongly suggested to get hold of a footprint and/or a carpet to protect the groundsheet, so this add-on should be considered. Having said that, even with the add-ons the Air 400 remains one of the cheapest 4 person air tents. Where to buy the EuroHike Air 400 The Eurohike Rydal 500 is quite lightweight and easy to carry in its carrybag. It weighs only 14.6 kgs, and the carrybag is not bigger than 75cm x 33cm x 33cm, so it fits into the smaller boots too, or you can put it in the roofbox if you’d like to. A bigger uncle, the Vango Odyssey Air 400; or the Odyssey Air 500are for those who need a bit more space for their sleeping area; and for those who want impressive stability and weather resilience. The Odysseys have both: thanks to their inner tension system they can withstand winds up to 70mph. Though as soon as the sun shines through the large mesh front door, it felt fine; and I began to value the shading that the full, dark panel provides. If you position your tent smartly, it can give decent shading almost throughout the day.

Eurohike Rydal 500 Review

The tent is suitable for a 3-season use, in my view it is best suited for a cooler environment. The reason for this is the fact that it is with PVC windows and there is no mesh on the ceiling. Such a structure keeps the warmth well but it can become too warm in a sunny and warm climate. As for other products within the Eurohike Air range ie accessories, replacement parts; there are a few choices. Of course, you can buy air tubes and valves in case something goes wrong, however in case a beam leaks air it most likely can be mended temporarily by using the repair kit that is included with the Air 400. So let’s have a look at the features and some of the most common issues with the Eurohike Rydal 500 Who is the Eurohike Rydal 500 For? The bedrooms are 210cms long and 120cm wide, leaving a 60cm wide sleeping area for everyone. This is sadly not enough to squeeze two normal size double beds inside, but you should be alright with the compact ones like the CampingAZ Compact Inflatable Double Bed.

Unusually for this price category, there is a drop and roll point for a flat entry point at the side door, this is handy when you have push chairs or little ones running in and out all day. In view of its declared capacity and the area which is 181 ft² (16.8 m²), you have 30.2 ft² (2.8 m²) per person. So this is very generous for 6 people and this tent is a luxurious option for family camping. But the floor plan above shows that the two sleeping rooms are quite narrow for 6 people although you have indeed enough place for 6 pads on the floor. A bespoke footprint is available to protect the groundsheet from uneven ground and to help retain the heat. The Eurohike Rydal 500 is perfect for couples – plenty of space both in the bedrooms and in the living area; as well as families of up to 5 (with 3 smaller children). The bedroom divider can be removed if you’d rather have one big bedroom. As a matter of fact, the whole ‘inner tent’ can be removed if you needed more living space during the day.The Rydal 600 is a tunnel-type tent designed with 3 rooms that can accommodate up to 6 people. So this is an elongated structure with three arches/poles of different size and the setup is very easy, as typical for tunnel type tents, see the floor plan below. You can put the Eurohike Sendero 6 on the list too, it is bigger than the Rydal 500 but not much bigger, and has great specs. Detailed review of the Eurohike Sendero tents here. Note that this structure is put up in one go, so you do not set the inner and outer tents separately; the inner is preattached, but it is removable. The setup is really easy with such a design and with the simple poles structure. Poles I touched on it already, the Rydal 500 offers a decent amount of space for an entire family. Sleeping area

The fabric is 100 % polyester: it is soft and more importantly is breathable, condensation can pass through easier. The Eurohike Air 400 features a 4000mm HH flysheet, which should be enough to prevent water leaking in during heavy rains, and should remain waterproof in light snowing too.

The Eurohike Air 400 sits on a 465cm x 265 cm footprint, and it is 195cms high at its highest point. This size is pretty average for a 4-berth tent, there are bigger tents and there are smaller too – most notably the biggest competitor of the Air 400, the Eurohike Genus 400 (reviewed here) is slightly smaller. PitchingThe shell fabric is polyester with 2000 mm waterproof rating. The floor is fully sewn-in and sealed, and the inner rooms are with their additional floor so you have two layers in that area. Seams are taped throughout the shell and the floor. This all is good enough for normal weather conditions in a 3-season use. As you enter the tent, you find approximately 6 sqm living area. It is big enough for two camping chairs and a smaller camping table, while you can still maintain comfortable access to the rooms and have some gear stored as well. In terms of ‘living room size’ it is very decent – some much more expensive 4-person tents have smaller living room (see this post here for more than one example: 4-Person Air Tents (Mid-range)) ; however, the porch area is minimal. cms is not a lot, there are 4-person tents that give you a bit more space (up to 75cm for each), but sadly, 60 cm per head is not unusual… You can find a detailed, head-to-head comparison of Eurohike Air 400 vs. Eurohike Genus 400 vs Berghaus Air 4 (and two more entry level small family tents) here:
