About this deal

Theres also the Associated rc8, Xray 808 hyper 9 ect... again who you ask will give a different response. Iv owned a few associate cars (b44, tc5r to name a few) and tbh that put me off for life, but thats me. The 808 looks stunning but i think its dated to some now, but they released an overhal kit to upgrade it. a 3 port will have a massive amount of low end torque, a 7 port will have lots of top end speed and power, were as a 5 port will have more best of both middle end. Hope this helps, as I was also starting to get fed up with her non starting, but its a great feeling when you finally get the car running around.

Ready to go straight from the box, just charge up your batteries and youre ready to crush the opposition! I have had the use of a starterbox to help the break in process ( on the 4th tank atm) but didn't have to use it from tank 3 as she fired up on just the pull start (be it after the 10th, 15th pull) test will be if she fires up again now after 3-4 day break without the starterbox. The Trophy 3.5 now features a cool waterproof electronics compartment for the receiver and receiver batteries and a pair of HPI SF-10W waterproof servos and finally a water-resistant air filter cover that allows you to keep running the Trophy 3.5 in truly extreme conditions! The HPI Trophy range of off-road racers has been updated with the latest in 2.4GHz radio technology, waterproof servos and a waterproof receiver & battery compartment! That’s right: one of our most popular nitro kits ever now has been upgraded to make it a performer just about anywhere! The drivetrain used in the Trophy 3.5 buggy is a full-time four-wheel drive shaft-type drivetrain. The shaft drivetrain is the best option for a kit that’s expected drive through mud, water, dirt, grass, snow or gravel! The entire drivetrain is supported by high quality ball bearings for extra efficiency, so you get the the maximum speed and acceleration possible, and the most out of every tank of fuel! Please note: This HPI vehicle is designed to provide water protection so it can be driven in wet conditions (e.g. rain, snow, puddles). Not for submersion. Nitro engines are splash protected and require extra care when running in wet conditions. See manual for details. There are essentially three reasons you might want to buy a used HPI Trophy 3.5 Nitro Buggy; you may be a collector, looking to restore and display it; restore and sell for a profit; or simply restore and race an iconic vintage model. Personally, I used to get a buzz out of restoring an old clapped-out model, installing modern day electrics and maybe a few hop-ups, then showing the gang at our local club, just how competitive those old models could still be.

Long travel suspension and high traction HPI tyres coupled with race inspired geometry ensure the Trophy handles just as well through the corners and rough stuff as it does in straight line drag racing. Power is nothing without control, so dual disc four wheel brakes ensure the Trophy can anchor up in no time at all. To increase the chassis stiffness, it’s fitted with metal rod braces front and rear – this allows the suspension to do all the work it’s designed to do for improveed driving feel and control without chassis twist or bending getting in the way. a 4.6 .28 engine will fit in the trophy with ease. (just liek the hypers with .28 engines ect) and will handle the extra power, but its weather you can I am also new to this game and got a HPI trophy 3.5 for xmas aswell, and had the same problems. Mine ran for one tank of fuel but was really "lumpy" and any throttle increase made her stall. I then tried a second tank but she wouldn't start even with a third throttle. My issue was with a duff glowplug, and the mixture wasn't rich enough. After an adjustment of the HSN and a new medium glowplug she runs like a dream. She still needs final tuning, but at least I have had two tanks of fuel through her to get oval runs done. A steel spur gear takes the power from the engine and transmits it through a central differential, which transfers power to the front and rear diffs by long central driveshafts. The front and rear bevel differentials use 4 internal gears for excellent durability over standard 2-gear diffs. The diff outdrives turn tough steel outdrives and axles, and 17mm orange anodized aluminum hex adapters spin the 7-spoke wheels, which are wrapped with Team HB Proto design rubber racing tires. The Trophy 3.5 comes in Ready to Run trim and includes a 2.4Ghz radio system that has a decent amount of adjustments for a buggy in this price range. It is a great value included with the buggy that is sure to fit the bill for bashers and new buggy owners. Thanks for that DLD, I am swayed by a starter box and thinking about it were I plan to drive around to I will need to drive there so power isn't an issue really. If you don’t want to make any changes and just get out and drive, that’s fine too! Absolutely everything is factory-fitted right out of the box, so you don’t have to change a thing if you want to just start up the Trophy 3.5 and have some fun. When I first showed up to test out the HPI Racing Trophy 3.5 buggy I was greeted with a nice surprise. The first thing I noticed was a very well built vehicle that looked much more like a race buggy than your typical “drive around and have fun” buggy. The fact is, if not for a pre-printed body, and a pull start engine you could easily mistake the Trophy 3.5 for a full on race buggy. Originally we were just for the Trophy 4.6 Truggy, but as the Trophy 3.5 Buggy is so similar, we let them in too!! And HPI are also releasing electric versions of the cars, who are going to be welcome here!!
