About this deal

French actress and model Clémence Poésy portrays Fleur in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and both parts of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film adaptation. Barty would end up moulding Harry's future when he made a comment that Harry had what it took to be an Auror. Though he only said it as part of his facade, Harry took the compliment to heart and made becoming an Auror his ambition, which he followed through with following the defeat of Voldemort.

Auror members of the task force were shown a series of training techniques inspired by Mad-Eye, requiring them to stay on their feet and defend themselves for over an hour and increasing the amount of damage they could withstand in combat. These task force members also attended a lesson on Moody's work, including his creed of always remaining on guard. A Calamity Investigator working for the task force also read through his report on the battle which cost him his left eye, inspiring them to utilise pain as power and increasing their chance of landing Critical Casts on Adversaries in Feared Chains. With a more traditional prone broom, the wand hand remains much closer to eye level, particularly when the rider is leaning forward for increased speed and maneuverability (not to mention the benefit the decreased profile gives in terms of making for a smaller, more difficult to hit target). The position of the wand would give much faster, and more accurate reactions, simply because the wand has much less distance to travel to be "ready". Lily is portrayed by Geraldine Somerville as an adult in the film series, and by Susie Shinner as a teenager and Ellie Darcey-Alden as a child.

The old, pre-Hogwarts friendship between Lily and Snape is fully revealed in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, along with the fact that Snape harboured unrequited romantic feelings for Lily from childhood. Rowling states that while Lily loved Snape as a friend, she might have returned those romantic feelings if Snape had not become so seriously involved in the Dark Arts. [24] Their relationship ends in their fifth year at Hogwarts, when Snape, in his anger and humiliation at being jinxed by James and Sirius, unthinkingly calls Lily a " Mudblood" after she defended him. Wooden Leg: At some point during his career, Alastor lost one of his legs and therefore relied on a wooden leg to replace his lost one. A French Wizarding student who represented the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in the Triwizard Tournament during Goblet of Fire. Helped move Harry from the Dursleys' to the Burrow and nursed Harry and his friends in Shell Cottage after Dobby's death in Deathly Hallows. Fought in the Battle of Hogwarts. Married Bill Weasley; the couple later had three children. Moody bought or inherited his wand at some point before his formal magical education began. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but his house is unrecorded in Ministry records. [4] He was known to be an excellent student however, gaining at least an 'Exceeds Expectations' mark in five N.E.W.T. subjects. [19] Apparition: Moody, like most accomplished adult wizards, could Apparate at will. He originally intended to bring Harry away from the Dursley's through side-along apparition.Professor Moody's late arrival Discovered in chapter 12, The Triwizard Tournament [ ] " A Late Arrival" [2] “ Wormtail, I need somebody with brains, somebody whose loyalty has never been wavered, and you, unfortunately, fulfil neither requirement." — Lord Voldemort discussing his plans with Peter Pettigrew [src]

Moody enters the classroom for the fourth-year Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson. He tells the students they can put away their books, as they won't be needing them. Moody tells the class that they are very behind on dealing with curses, and says that he will be bringing them up to scratch on what harm wizards can do to each other. He tells the class that he has one year to teach them how to deal with Dark magic as he intends to return to his retirement at the end of the year. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 30 ( The Pensieve) - "a boy in his late teens, who looked nothing short of petrified." This was at his trial after 31 October 1981, so he was still younger when he joined. Professor Moody emerges from a classroom near to the Charms corridor just after Harry tells Cedric about the dragons. He tells Harry to come to his office, and closes the door behind them. He watches Harry closely as the boy looks around his office, and tells him about the Dark Detectors he keeps in there. Moody tells Harry that he doesn't want to play favourites but that he wants to give Harry some general advice. He encourages Harry to play to his strengths, reminding Harry that he is an excellent flier. He gives one other piece of advice to Harry: he needs to use a nice, simple spell to get what he needs. Moody doesn't directly tell Harry anything, but he encourages him to put the two pieces of advice together to figure out what he needs for the first task. Crouch, a manipulative man and clearly a convincing actor (he was able to convincingly pose as Alastor Moody for over nine months), was trying to escape prison to resume searching for Voldemort.Moody enters the Death Chamber with Sirius, Remus, Tonks and Kingsley. They rain spells down on the Death Eaters, hurrying down the stone steps towards the sunken floor of the room. Moody is hit with a spell by one of the Death Eaters; he lies on his side, bleeding from the head, his magical eye spinning away across the floor. Barty is tried before the Council of Magical Law, along with Bellatrix, Rodolphus, and Rabastan Lestrange Nymphadora Tonks is a Metamorphmagus and an Auror. Her name means "Gift of the Nymphs". She despises her first name and prefers to be called by her surname alone. She is still referred to as "Tonks" by her peers even after her marriage. Non-verbal magic: Crouch could cast many highly advanced spells without uttering incantations, such as when he transfigured Draco Malfoy into a ferret, when and removed the desks in his classroom. [16] Due to his time in Azkaban, not to mention the years he subsequently spent under the Imperius curse, Barty may have simply gone insane, and disregarded his own actions.

The Noble Collection also made a replica of Alastor's wand, as seen in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.Constant Vigilance!" is Moody's supposed catchphrase. However, the phrase is never actually uttered by Moody, only by Barty Jnr when impersonating him. In the film adaptions, the phrase is omitted altogether (aside from one use that was edited out). Transfiguration: As an Auror, Moody was proficient in transfiguration, as he had to have received at least an Exceeds Expectations in his O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. for this subject. [45] When Barty Crouch Jnr easily transfigured Malfoy into a ferret, McGonagall was not suspicious, meaning Moody would have likely been capable of doing the same feat. [23] Moody was proficient with Conjuration, with him being able to cast the Incarcerous Spell swiftly. [48] Teaching skills: While Moody never had the chance to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, [6] since Bartemius Crouch Junior did his best to convincingly imitate Moody's behaviour and habits, it can be deduced that Moody would have been a very effective professor, since Harry Potter learned from the fake Moody to resist the Imperius Curse, Dean Thomas noted that the fake Moody had taught them a great deal, and Dumbledore was not suspicious of Crouch's success in teaching the students. Moreover, Moody mentored his protégée Nymphadora Tonks in becoming a highly skilful Auror in her own right, showing him to have been an excellent teacher himself. [6] Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 28 ( The Madness of Mr Crouch) - “Yes, my son has recently gained twelve O.W.L.s, most satisfactory, yes, thank you, yes, very proud indeed."
